WWE - Who is hyped!?

  • @MCRMJ if you follow the wwe news and the leakes which are 95% right like i do you'd know who will win but still i'm just hyped for Joe vs Lasner and the iron man tag match.

  • Global Moderator

@A7X458 Oh definitely, I follow everything, but the Lesnar Joe match should still be decent if they don't go the squash route.

Though thinking about it, I'm not sure Lesnar is capable of anything more these days.

  • So nobody to talk about Great Balls of Fire?

I thought the Joe Lesnar match was really good, although I would have loved for it to last 5 minutes longer, there was such intensity in every move that you can't really blame the guys. Lesnar in particular went through all colors of the spectrum and was sweating like a pig at the end. I think if anything, this match really put Joe on the map as a terrifying threat for anyone on the roster.

I secretly hope he won't just be fed to Reigns next week and the match will end on a draw so we can have a triple threat at SummerSlam.

Speaking of Reigns, good match against Strowman, some fun spots, and I was surprised he lost the match! The ambulance stunt was cool but dragged on for way too long afterwards, not sure if they were going for realism or legit had trouble opening the door but it got pretty boring which sucked the energy out of the whole thing.

The 30-minute iron man tag team match was excellent too, great pacing and storytelling, everyone involved did a great job, kudos to them!

    The rest was forgettable though.

  • WWE cancelled Talking Smack and the Pyro for the Raw and Smackdown, so butting your top belt on Jinder wasn't a success, WWE management needs to get with the times.

  • Whattttt?? Why cancel Talking Smack? That was one of my favourite things every week, it allowed so many wrestlers to show a totally different side of their personality, it made me like so many guys a lot more than I usually would. Crazy that they don't realise that! And it can't cost much to produce, so what's the reasoning behind it?

  • @Axel here is there response to PWInsider

"We continuously review WWE Network’s programming line-up based on a variety of factors, including viewership and subscriber research. Talking Smack and Raw Talk will air following pay-per-view events, and Tuesday will continue to feature 205 LIVE."

  • So low viewership? Hard to believe but I guess they know their numbers better than us.

It's still a huge shame as it helped further storylines and give mic time to those who rarely get any. I'm sad.

  • That Joe / Lesnar match looked good on GBOF, I liked it. It succeeded in making Joe look like a strong loser after the match. And in the following RAW he was on fire on the mic, what a great spot that was. And even Lesnar decided to talk this time himself, nice verbal jabs from both of them. Even Reigns got a few in, it's always somehow more electrifying when they bring up the reality ("You're not around that much" etc.). I'm pretty confident we'll get a Triple Threat match on SummerSlam, it'll be a good mix.

  • @Sentinel-Beach i feel like Lasner likes working with Joe and maybe he will put him over in Summer Slam, i can't wait how will Strowman return this Monday.

  • RAW spoilers

Are we heading towards a Fatal-4-Way with Lesnar, Joe, Reigns AND Strowman? I gotta say, that would probably be an insanely fun match to watch!

The other possibility is that they'll have a Triple Threat between Joe, Reigns and Strowman next week to determine the number 1 contender, and Reigns will win. Much less exciting.

Also Kurt Angle's big secret turned out to be... Jason Jordan is his son?? Haha oh WWE, you! Seems to spell the end of American Alpha, that's a shame although they were buried on Smackdown. Now it explains why they gave Gable a couple single opportunities and Jordan was nowhere to be seen these past few weeks.

Oh well, why not, curious to see what they have in store for Jordan, he's probably gonna get a push. The guy definitely "has all the tools", as Cole likes to say about all the guys who will never make it. In the post-RAW interview he was clearly not great and kept repeating himself, so I hope he doesn't buckle.

  • @Axel i would loved to write down every WWE fan bet for what's angel secret and see if anyone predicted Jason Jordan.

In Smackdown, i hate how Rusev job is to job for Cena, he can do so much more as a face, did Cena basically say that his match with Rusev is the most important match in Sunday?? I'm more interested in the relationship between Lana and Tamina

  • Any predictions for breezango mystery opponents for Battleground?

I'm hoping for sanity or AoP.

  • I thought it was just The Ascension, no? If it's actually a mystery team then I'm excited!

  • @Axel i think the Ascension got cleared as suspects 3 weeks ago, i don't want to say any rumors so i am using the Huber method of putting it out there so it could happen.

  • Battleground: that was a bad sprite PPV. I don't know, it didn't get me excited at all. I mean the biggest surprise was propably when the Great Khali made his return, but like two minutes later I was bummed because I realized that now we're gonna see his huge hulk in the ring again and that was literally never fun to watch.

And please, give Jinder a new challenger now. No more Randy. But it's SummerSlam next, so I wouldn't be totally surprised if they still need Orton for the main event one more time. That would just be really boring to me at this point.

The flag match was pretty awful. I mean just wow, seeing Cena with his Nickelodeon acting again was just stupid. The shaking hand reaching for the flag all those times, all that crawling like going for a wounded partner, the way, wayyy too dramatic glances etc. Spare me already. There's some good matches in him too, granted, but this was at the other end of the spectrum.

What was the deal with the ending in AJ/Owens? Nothing was made of out of that referee bump. We saw like three submission moves during his clearing of his head, but neither of the guys actually tapped out, which would've been the reason why the referee was taken into the equation in the first place. Then suddenly it was just AJ's shoulders down and there you have it. Wait, what. Weird.

Natalya gets the SummerSlam spot, that's new. I guess they needed a heel for Naomi which makes sense, of course. I'm pretty sure Natty's gonna win now, but will they immediately strip her out of the title via Carmella? That would be nasty, considering Natalya hasn't been in the spotlight for a long time now. And I don't even care for her that much, but I think she could hold the title for a month or two.

  • The tag team match was great and Sami Zayn won, that's all the positive things i can say about this PPV, the rest of the show range from bad finish (women 5-way and Aj vs KO) to boring( flag match and WWE title match), WTF are wwe doing with Nakamura?? The guy can kick Corbin to oblivion but they decided to go with i DQ finish on a PPV!!

Why is Khali the worst heavyweight Champion EVER doing in WWE in 2017, he couldn't move or wrestle 5 years ago why is he back!!

  • If you haven't watched it, you should check out Talking Smack after Battleground, the entire Kevin Owens segment was hilarious, easily (and sadly) the best part of the evening.

I really don't like Natalya, I find her awkward and stiff, especially given her experience. So I'm really surprised she got the SummerSlam spot, but I'm pretty sure they'll let Naomi retain and then have Carmella cash in on her.

I don't mind what they're doing with Corbin and Nakamura, there's other guys on top right now so it's ok to take their time a bit with Nakamura, and this feud makes both of them look strong, and potentially sets up a future feud for the WWE title.

The tag team match was great and it's good to see The New Day being champs again, but once they're done with The Usos, who could possibly challenge for their title? I guess the mystery assailants of Breezango?

The flag match was clearly just pandering to the kids and the "Murica" crowd, oh well.

As for the WWE title match, there were some good spots and both guys were seriously busted up by the end. I don't like the fact that Jinder is getting so much help, it doesn't help make him a credible champion. I get that we're supposed to hate him for it, it's typical heel stuff, but it wouldn't hurt to give him a clean victory once in a while to make him look really threatening. I hope The Great Khali only acts as a bodyguard and doesn't actually have matches or we're in for a looooong next few months...

  • @Axel when KO said "I'm the elite wink wink" i laughed so hard, and the chemistry between Renee and Owens is so good they should have there own sitcom on WWE Network.

So RAW is over 3 hours tonight what a misschdule of matches and segments.

  • What a tease SmackDown gave us with that next week's Cena/Nakamura match. Winner faces Jinder at SummerSlam. But it'll be Cena, right? I mean this'll be Nakamura's first step even into the general direction of the WWE title and I really don't see them putting him there without further build-up first. Okay, there's no build-up for Cena either here, but he can do whatever he wants, it seems. It's been that way for long already. (Same goes for Reigns on RAW already now in his career, which is the root of all that booing, of course.) But yeah, Cena on the main event in SS sounds about right, if you think about it. But will he win is another question. They just brought Khali for Jinder and all. (Unless that was a one night thing? I don't know.)

Jericho came back, I was surprised. Seemed like a cool match, that main event, though I didn't have time to watch it as a whole. Glad that AJ won, anyway. Will this back and forth action between him and KO lead into SS as well? Propably. Maybe they'll add a face or two into the mix along the way.

Speaking of crowded title matches: Fatal 4-Way for the Universal title. Yes! This HAS to be Strowman's moment. It needs to be. The build-up's been pretty much perfect, he has the fans behind him now more than ever. Pull the trigger here, WWE!
