[Official] What are you playing?

  • @FF7Cloud Ouch... Hopefully you have a speedy recovery from that.

  • More I play Peach Beach Splash the more I gravitate towards the Assault Rifle. Shotgun doesn't feel strong enough to deal with team battles (though I love it in the "here's 1000 mooks" fights) and Dual Pistols, while fun, are just entirely too weak and you spend more time reloading than actually shooting. I need to give the single pistol and rifle more time though since I haven't used them much. Also, I wish there were more sidestories. I really enjoyed the ones in Estival Versus so more here would be welcome.

After playing even more I'm digging the pistol (and shower gun, was ignoring it but decided to give it a shot and it's pretty alright) too. Rifle doesn't really grab me, gatling gun is stupid good but naturally the absolutely bonkers reload time is a gigantic drawback, and spray gun's okay but I dunno something about it just hasn't clicked with me yet.

  • my foot felt a bit better today so i played some tales of zesteria and the stupid chalice puzzle can burn in hell

  • If there's a list of games so bad they're good i would put Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen on that list.

  • I've been back into Demon's Souls again. I think I'm halfway through now? It might be the first Souls game I beat...

  • @Minamik @bard91 @Torigasa-Reta just a heads up that their are CS3 plot summaries available and the wiki is updated with the new info so dont be stupid like me and type in rean swartzer into google like i did.

  • I'm on my Dreamcast at the moment. I'm going for a replay of MDK2, a game I actually only beat once back when it came out. I slightly prefer the original, but this is still a fantastic game.

  • Been replaying Smash 4 since I got the 3DS version recently and it makes for a good "kill time during lunch break" game. Cloud and Pac-Man are still my favorites to use, which almost feels wrong in a game all about celebrating Nintendo's history, but whatever.

  • Evil Within 2, put a good few hours into it. I think I feel safe in saying this is like the SH or RE game we never got after RE4

  • Played some Tales of Berseria im about 35 hours in now i think im near the end the story just as you thinks its gonna take the next step just dosnt capitalize on its own momentum.

  • I made the Switch. Few initial thoughts:

*This thing is way smaller than I expected. Never bothered to look up how big it actually was but I was expecting it to basically be a Wii U gamepad with the sides lopped off but side by side it dwarfs the Switch. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it is meant to be portable and all but still.
*I'm not really fond of using it in portable mode with the joycons latched on as a result (I thought the Wii U gamepad was the perfect size) but it's not really that bad.
*Being able to hold both joycons in whatever position I want is oddly liberating considering it's not really that much different than the Wiimote in that regard. It just feels good to have my hands in whatever position feels right at the moment instead of having to keep both on it like a regular controller.
*That joycon docking controller thing is an abomination and I couldn't even use it for two minutes during setup without throwing it back in the box never to be touched again.
*First thing I bought for it was Sonic Mania despite already 100%ing it on PS4. I told myself it was to give the system a test run but really you can't ever have too many copies of the GOTY.
*Holy shit Fast RMX is good. Don't know why I skipped the Wii U version but I'm glad I'm playing it now.

  • @DeweyDTruman What's your Friend Code?

I have to disagree, I think it feels pretty good, been playing a lot of Xenoverse 2 with it without problem.

  • @Torigasa-Reta To be fair I've got giant gorilla hands (which is probably why I loved the Wii U gamepad, I've definitely heard complaints about its size before)

  • @DeweyDTruman Okay tbf I do have rather small hands, the original Xbox pad was a nightmare for me, lol.

  • I did not like The Duke, but I did grow fond of the Wii U gamepad...Just goes to show ya, it takes all types, lol.

  • @Minamik Had no problem with the Wii U Pad, played the entirety of Bayonetta 1 & 2 with it after not liking the Pro Pad.

  • I'm currently 17 hours into TEW2 and on chapter 12. I'm actually liking this one a lot more than the original. Thankfully the game hasn't gone and turned itself into a pure sandbox game like a good number of others have; instead, this hub-like structure to some of the chapters actually works in the games favour, and they are sized just about right as well. Combat it a lot more enjoyable as well, as now you actually have the space & means to approach the enemies tactically, and then run away to start again if you make a mistake.

There are a couple of things I don't like, such as the need for a crafting/gathering system and the fact that the franchise still looks & feels too much like TLoU, but it's definitely still one of the years better games.

  • I'm trying to 100% A Hat In Time right now when I'm at home, but on the go I'm replaying Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest and debating whether or not I should jump in to Revelations. All I know is that Birthright is not an option, I cannot and will not betray Nohr. I feel like I haven't said this before on these forums but my love of Fire Emblem runs deep. I feel like I'm one of the few people who is eagerly anticipating FE Warriors, I know that it looks janky and all but like, it's Fire Emblem. I can't just pass up more Fire Emblem.
