For a living I: work in biotech
Non-gaming Hobbies: writing, doodling, martial arts, a variety of varyingly nerdy TV shows/movies/etc, yelling on the internet
Gaming History: grew up playing some PC games (Myst, Sims, Descent, King's Quest), but didn't own a console until adulthood - fell in love with games as an adult first with Portal, then the Mass Effect series, and am now dedicating lots of time to catching up on games I've missed and devouring newer things as they come out.
PSN: aaldaira (in Overwatch, there's like a 40% chance it's my wife playing, though - she tends toward Widowmaker, DVa, & Symmetra, and I'm usually Pharah, Lucio, or Mei.)
Twitch: aaldaira (just chat so far, no streams, but I'm considering doing some this summer)
Firm believer in: not much at all, but likely to show interest in snarky bro characters, the sea, space travel, the sea as a metaphor for space travel, all things Disney, and people who are passionate about the things they love.

RE: What is your favorite game and why?
Mass Effect 2. the way the game is structured just works for me so much - it drops you into an immediately emotionally resonant situation, spends the first third of the game building your team, the second third getting to know each of them, and the final third utilizing them and their strengths to fight an enemy, with real consequences if you make the wrong decisions. the characters and the relationships you build with them as you progress your Shepard as a person and a commander are some of my favorites in any medium.
RE: LGBTQ+ Allies!
oh, this is a good post! I'm Jai, and I'm bi & nonbinary of some description. I initially started watching GT for Elyse, who I'd seen on James's streams and really enjoyed. I started with TTA & then moved to watching all of ManUps, and I remember the episode where Ian & Elyse dressed up as each other making a real impact for me - they made jokes and comments based around gender identity that weren't hurtful or mocking, but rather seemed to be coming from a place of rare honesty and introspection about it. I appreciate & admire how outspoken Ian is (in a lot of things, but specifically) in not accepting the label of "man," and in constantly pushing conversations toward a place of inclusion of various genders & orientations.
I am forever hoping for more queer content in games - some highlights off the top of my head would be Life is Strange - a beautiful game in its own right that also includes at least one queer character/relationship; Dragon Age Inquisition - which allows for some player-involved queer relationships, has some characters who wind up in queer relationships of their own if they don't date the player, and has a canonically trans character involved in the story; The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC - a welcome addition onto the game that added some depth & backstory. Also the Overwatch devs have confirmed that some characters are queer, but as far as I can tell haven't revealed which ones, which I love.
RE: Share your created character!
Aw, fun. My first character in any given game pretty much always looks the same - if I replay, I start to have fun with them. I have a male Adaar for DA:I as well, but I don't have caps of him.
Everett Shepard - Mass Effect series (Paragon)
Lex Shepard - Mass Effect series (Renegade)
Garraty Aeducan - Dragon Age Origins
Olson Hawke - Dragon Age 2
Vries Cadash - Dragon Age Inquisition
RE: Dream EZA Collaborations
I'd like to see them collaborate with some ladies, since they're a dude-heavy crew on their own. I love seeing Amanda on streams, and if any of the others have GFs or friends who would be interested in being involved, it would be super cool to see them game together. Really enjoyed Paola Alejandra when she was on GT Live, would love to see her again - and of course GT alums Elyse & Andrea Rene, anytime.
I'd also selfishly love to see Jones talk Disney with Lou Mongello from WDW Radio someday. Nerds nerding out together, yes please!
RE: Your gaming dreams
I'd really love to see the Disney parks be brought into games in a meaningful way - the concept art for Epic Mickey was so promising, but the final product was so watered down by uncompelling gameplay and the company's unwillingness to go as dark as the concept demanded. So I'd love to see someone deliver on that potential, or on the totally opposite end of the spectrum, to develop a completely jolly Disney parks-based Mario-style platformer - with the lands as worlds and the attractions as levels within them.
Or Portal 3. Obviously.
RE: EZA Disneyland Fan Funday Info
nice - as a Disney parks nerd who hasn't been to Disneyland since 3rd grade I'm taking the Allies' show as an excuse for a long weekend Disneyland adventure, so I'll be there anyway and will definitely be in for this. (thanks for the tips, too!)
RE: I guess I WILL be going to the anniversary meet and greet... (UPDATE)
@Mango glad you ended up making it! it was excellent getting to talk to you!
