@dipset exactly how I felt. Played 2 levels, did not go back.
game become more interesting after third level, super gore nest and mars core are some of best levels ever.
Hardcore PC gamer.
I don't get the issues people have with the Marauders to be completely honest. After getting my strategy down they are dead within 15sec max.
you super shotgun them, quick switch to hit them with the Ballista, quick switch back to the super shotgun for a final hit.
do that like 3 times and he's dead.
If anything, his freaking dog/wolf is the annoying part.
I played on Ultra-Violence only so far, so I don't know if I too would hate that enemy more on Nightmare.
and about the ammo situation, well, the chainsaw now auto regens to 1 charge after like 20sec I think, so enemies are your ammo crates, it keeps you moving and aggressive at all times and keeps you from loading up on tons of Heavy Cannon ammo and just shoot everyone from miles away. It's a deliberate design decision to keep the player close to the enemies and make camping far away less of a viable option.
I have absolutely zero issue with it, and I can't see a logical reason to see this as a negative as you always have a chainsaw charge when you need it, and if you don't that means you're really bad at aiming.
that's another thing the lower ammo count forces you to do, AIM... you can't just spam like a crazy person without actually trying to use your ammo effectively or you will run out before your chainsaw recharges in some fights.
again, I can't see any way to see this as a negative... the new ammo balancing forces you to hit your shots, use your ammo wisely and it keeps you close to the action and keeps you from distance camping.
and the game compliments the new focus of drawing you closer to the enemies by giving you instant access to the double jump and you get the boost ability really early as well. so you have the ability to dodge attacks better than in the first one where you weren't forced to be as close to the fights as in Eternal.
marauders dog is more painful. beside they are most annoying enemies in game. although i beat them with ballista gun.
Can somebody guide me to the essential STALKER mods to make the game bearable in 2020? I bought it for like $2 on sale a while ago and I'm genuinely interested in trying this game considering it was pivotal in the survival genre that's popular today, but I don't wanna deal with headaches and unbearable jank either.
Autumn Aurora 2.
Man I'm finding this game tough, can't remember dying so often in 2016 version and only playing on 2nd difficulty.
because its more harder. low on health and ammo give you enough challenge. but i see lot of people complain about it.
