How are some people getting so real over this?

RE: Are you buying into VR this year?
Sony did a great job showing off PSVR this week and I have to admit for an hour or so I was considering pre-ordering. But the stuff I am really excited about is still ways off and even though the 399 pricetag sounds great at first, if you add move controllers, camera and games it's already blowing way past the 500€ mark. I'm definitely going to wait at least till 2017, probably christmas 2017.
The other VR stuff I'm not even considering. I'm a Mac user and sure as hell ain't gonna drop a grand on a gaming pc and another grand on VR + games and I'm also not going to buy a 600 dollar Samsung phone.
RE: Forgotten RPGs
If you love RPGs, there's a solid chance you've played a Final Fantasy, an Elder Scrolls game, or hell, maybe even Persona. But what about those underappreciated RPGs that no one ever talks about? Let's talk about 'em!
My main recommendation is always the Shadow Hearts series from the PS2 era. Set in the "real" world, you're left battling actual historical figures, like Roger Bacon and Rasputin, all while dealing with the occult and demons. Towns are full of dread, you can recruit a vampire into your party as a secret character (at least in the first game), and the combat is turn based but uses a "judgement ring" - basically using timing to perform even the simplest actions, making the stakes always a little higher than normal.
What other beauties are out there?
I love you man. Shadow Hearts 2 is probably my favorite PS2 JRPG, possibly my favorite JRPG period. Great call! I am still really bummed out, that neither Nautilus nor its successor feelplus inc ever got the rcognition they deserved.Talking about feelplus inc. Lost Odyssey was the only true PS3 era Final Fantasy if you ask me.
RE: Forgotten RPGs
@SabotageTheTruth Yeah but that's probably because Level 5 is still very much and active and successful developer with strong publisher relationships. No idea what happened to the feelplus inc/Nautilus guys and even more important: I am not even sure who owns the rights to SH. It used to be Midway, but they are long gone.
But I will remain hopeful. If Shenmue 3 can happen, at least a remaster for SH should be possible, right?
RE: Separate Gaming discussion from... everything else?
Yeah I second this thread. I definitely think 3-5 subforums more would do well. But I'm sure you guys will figure that out. Keep up the great work!
RE: TV Show based Games
I like that topic alot. I loved the second Buffy game back in the day. It was a true 7/10 game, but it got the feel of the show just really really right. Not a great game, but I had so much fun with it. Although I'm sure it didn't age particularly well.
Obvious answer would be a huge ass Game of Thrones Action RPG. Not just an adventure, but a full scale Skyrim like game.
Mad Men could work really well as something close to a Telltalle game, but with a simulation aspect, where you have to do market research and create real ads for clients.
Agents of SHIELD could work as a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance type gamee.
I don't know, if anybody remembers Lie To Me, that procedural about the guy who could read microexpressions on peoples faces, and solved crimes that way. Very average show, but would work great as a LA Noire type game.
Suits with Phoenix Wright gameplay might also be fun.
RE: Tv shows/movies Watching
@michemagius Wow, that's quite a commitment. The only show of that size I've ever started watching (and am inching closer to completing) is ER.
I've watched the first season of The Leftovers and was utterly astounded. Really quite a work of art. But be careful, it's a deeply depressing, bleak show.
RE: Settle It
The "who cares" mentality that Damiani has is not what you would want in a critic.
It really frustrated me that Damiani just wasn't willing to have any kind of reasonable discussion about the game. Then again, it's probably not the best idea to try to have that kind of discussion about a game one person has in his top 3 of all time. I mean I get it, but it's still really annoying to see somebody who has been reviewing games for a living that long, be that unwilling to have a constructive conversation. Kyle can be a troll but he really tried to find common ground and Damiani wasn't having it.
RE: Settle It
They weren't really there to negotiate (even though they said they would be), hence why there wasn't really anything "settled". So they were just as bad as each other, but I still think it was an enjoyable stream to watch. It was entertaining, not so much insightful.
I really think Bosman at least tried. Either way, I definitely agree that it was a very enjoyable stream. I'd love to see Brad and Brandon do FFVII, but it might lead to Brad getting arrested for manslaughter. :D

Gaming Historical facts - First game I can remember playing is Wolfenstein 3D on PC at the age of about 3, after that I got a Gameboy, right at the time when Pokemon really blew up in Europe. So that became my first real gaming obsession. PS2 era was when I really played alot. Some of my favorite game series back then where Time Splitters, SSX, Final Fantasy, Ratchet and Clank, Kingdom Hearts and Shadow Hearts. I worked for a gaming site during the 360/PS3 era and mostly stopped playing a couple of years ago.
RE: Favorite Video Game OST's
Most Nobuo Uematsu Final Fantasys for sure. Some examples of my favorites:
A Place To Call Home Final Fantasy 9
To Zanerkand Final Fantasy X
And Of course: Kingdom Hearts classics like Dearly Beloved
Maybe something a little less obvious:
The Shadow of the Colossus Soundtrack is really interesting.
Not really OST as much but man do I love the Bayonetta Version of Fly me to the Moon
RE: What's the secret sauce to making a successful Patreon? - a short survey for my bachelor's thesis
Completed! Would it be useful to you if we shared your survey with friends or in other Patreon communities?
Oh man, that would be amazing! Thank you so much!
RE: Easy Allies in Concert
Thanks, I like that shirt a lot. The show was amazing as well, obviously. Jones is one hell of a multi-talent, best VO in the biz, amazing at leading EZA and goddamn, can he sing. Box Peek looks awesome, as well. Kyle is such a unique artist. And I loved every single other bit too. Loved Bloods rap, loved Ultima Brads return, loved Dons what-ever-the-hell-that-was, loved all the songs. Just a really jolly experience, even watching at home.
PS: All hail to Middle Guy!
RE: Annoying Gaming Censorship
@axel They are just called "the regime" and instead of a Führer, there is a chancellor.
And instead of the Swastika, you get this
Oh, and the funniest thing: Hitler is clean shaven. Because apparently, we draw the line at mustaches. I'm really unsure if i should sell the game and try to get a uncensored copy, but to be honest I don't care about the game that much, so I don't think I actually want to pay another 20,30 €.
