I want my final bet to be true so bad.
I have an extra Steam key for Tomb Raider, if anyone wants to try it out after hearing all the praise we have been lauding it with. While I'm not sure how well it has aged, I sure had a lot of fun with it back when I did play it. It's also cool seeing such an iconic character like Lara Croft succeeding in a new franchise with a shift in genre.
All I really remember of my time with Papers Please is being stressed out over searching for all of the details and possible inconsistencies. I'm sure it was a good game and all, but I wouldn't call it fun. I am pretty sure I legit had a nightmare about the printer that gives you the "you made an error" notices.
I didn't even hear of Wonderful 101 until this year. I think the way people voted for it reflects a sad truth: It is an amazing game that the failure of the Wii U kept from reaching a proper audience. Hopefully the rumors of the Switch port are true so more people can experience Tearju Engi & BigDude1's favorite game from 2013.
I have to agree with @Ringedwithtile about Stanley Parable. I played the demo and couldn't stand its smugness. I have a major distaste for any game that tries to comment on player choice in gaming, or really any game that tries to be philosophical for that matter.
Because of the way I wait to buy games when they are cheap, most of these games from 2013 that I played I played in later years. I think the games I played more recently have a big advantage over those I played at the time. That being said my 3 & 4 picks are games I played in 2013.
Is it wrong that I intentionally left out a game that very much deserved a place on my list because I know enough other people will vote for it?
@sabotagethetruth One of the main reasons I don't post here more is all of the bickering here. And you say it is so bad on the Facebook group that you left?! I haven't seen it but it sounds like it must be quite out of hand.
I'm not sure if the other lurkers like me would come out of the shadows if there was less arguing, but I for one don't really feel like posting when I think there is a good chance someone else might come along and reply to my posts sentence by sentence saying how I'm wrong for not thinking like they do.
Thanks for making this!
If I remember correctly the first ingredient in Glinny's Cauldron (the cutscene skipping one) was stolen by Capcom and put into DMC5.
