@Fridge-man The animations and glitches never bothered me. I personally found the game boring and no it didn't feel like Mass Effect.
I like open world games but very few if any do it well. If your vast open universe only exists for me to fetch items, follow a trail, travel vast distances to start a new quest, find random loot then it's just filler. The story and characters in my opinion also weren't interesting. They tried for something that didn't quite reach it's potential, it didn't help that they had to match the trilogy standards and find a way to innovate. I hate the wasted potential for them being in a new galaxy. The characters, the situation, the aliens... I thought it was all poorly done. I hope they straight up reboot the next game and start from scratch with a whole new direction. ME deserves better.

That is it so far.
@suplextrain gamasutra is good, havnt heard of the other two. I'll check them out.
Like I said, poor choice of words, Maybe some minor cosmstetic upgrades, higher texture quality or even just a port in my opinion would be completely fine. There is a lot to appreciate with original games especially from that generation. Games like grim fandango, or even romance saga brought back classics in nice ways.

Wow, I've never had so many comments on one post before lol. See negativity does stimulate more clicks and conversation.
I think Stephen Totilo and Jason Schreier are both great ppl that cover the games industry. As for other articles I take them on a case by case basis. Where are there places that stay away from click bait and cover the industry completely objectively? Would like to know.
As for HD Remaster comment, I mean more inline with FF7 on psn right now, just meaning its been implemented for the HD screen. Possibly a poor choice of words.
@suplextrain I've never known kotaku to be known for click bait. Not that they're free from it but it's one of the better sites depending on the writer. Also, your free to disagree with them. He also discusses the design and theme differences of the two games not just the cover of the game. I dont expect ppl to take everything they read and agrree or disagree with it wholly. It's there to see broader perspectives.
I personally don't like the VA, or art. It looks horrible in my opinion. They could have just released an HD version of the original. But it's out, ppl like it and thatsl is great, enjoy. But it's good to have some different perspectives for ppl interested in it but aren't sure. Many ppl are debating on playing the original or this one first, and many I'm sure will play both.

Interesting read on the original vs the new game.
Played for a few hours on PS4 pro and I like it. The story and characters have all been interesting and I like the combat even though I'm not good at it yet, but I think that's by design.
The game looks good in my opinion, even though the first few minutes of playing was a bit jarring because of the FOV and maybe some low quality textures. But overall the game looks pretty good on pro, but I've never been to picky. You can adjust FOV slightly which helps. I would like to see saves before cut scenes and when you exit the game otherwise I don't mind. Also lock picking is horrible lol. Both those are being worked on from the devs.
So with all that said and I'm only a few hours in but I am enjoying it a lot. The game hasn't opened up for me yet so I don't want to get to ahead of myself but I like that the world feels dynamic so far. It reminds me of oblivion with a twist and more options. We will see how I feel about it after more time.
@TokyoSlim And that's why 10 points is useless. If nothing under 5 is if value then why use it at all. What's wrong with a 5 being an okay game? You can then use the numbers in between to be more meaningful.
To many games are 8's that are just okay. Having a 7 8 9 to tell you the difference between a low good game vs a high good game. As for now scores are completely meaningless except 9 and up because it typically means they did something exceptional to be there.
Overall id rather scores go away and you read the review. Or at least a rubric measuring different areas of the game.

The real problem is that the industry is so stuck in their ways and it would be risky for any reviewer to change the system with actually scoring an okay game with 5.
With how limited I am for time for games I usually don't buy less than a 9
lol
Better start buying more 5's then
Lol. Hey I buy 7 and 8's too sometimes if it's game I want. Those are pretty much 5's.
