Did you freaking see this new showing?! This project is literally becoming more unbelievable the more real it's getting. Holy fuck, I tell you. This looks amazing! And Tifa. She's just perfect. Perfect. How is this all possible. The amount of literally EVERYTHING in this game. I don't know if I can handle this. :)

Yeah, really blown away by how insanely good this looks and how they've seemingly nailed everything. :)
Gonna miss the old voice cast now that it's confirmed, but the snippets of the new sound very promising so far which is a really good sign.

Last night's blowout was awesome and I agree Tifa's design was perfect and her fighting looked awesome in the battle footage (voice sounded great too).
      Cannot wait.

    • RE: What Genre Of Games Do You Play The Most?

JRPGs by far get the most gaming time from me.
Including the strategy rpgs like Valkyria Chronicles and FFT/Shining Force style ones, etc.

Then character action games and action/adventure games, platformers, and the occasional western RPG. Now also mixing in PSVR since getting one back at launch.

What I can say, is that with these stakes, I have no stake in the results. They both sound equally hilarious to me.

      Yeah, they do LOL

As always, that was a lot of fun to watch.

@TokyoSlim yeah I know but there was whispers in the wind still :)
Yeah, though mainly because those rumors happened every year for those two games though. :D It wasn't until the day of that the more concrete hint came, and even then most didn't believe it which made the conference extra hype. :)

      I LOVE these betting specials!

We have an EZA |OT| there, we welcome all the allies who'd want to hang out with us.

I may well end up sharing my forum time between here and there when registration opens up again :)

Me too, I'm going to try to keep posting here directly on the EZA forums as well. :)

@DangerMouse if I learn something new, I will try to pass it on here. No promises though... I can't be online all the time :(

      Edit:

      From my discord channel (admin):

The purpose of the soft launch wasn't to keep an exclusive club for a week or two, it was just to stagger registrations and let legitimate users establish the community before trolls inevitably came in. Since both of those things are accomplished, the admins' next goal is to get the site ready for the public. I believe it's quite close.

His tip: keep an eye on the official Twitter channel https://mobile.twitter.com/ReseteraForum

      Yeah, it makes sense.
Someone on the other forum relayed a couple of those messages to the thread that that was the likely plan.
Glad I noticed you had already answered his question before I finished typing since you had more direct info.

    • RE: ResetEra Is Now Open

      @ISee
Beat me to it while I was typing, thank goodness as well since I was only able to follow it second-hand through here at EZA and Slaent reading people trying to piece together what was going on and how things were evolving. Like many, and probably tons more, I too completely missed all the discords going up by not being around until quite late Sunday so I could only take things in from relatively far away.

Only additional piece of info I can add, for anyone that is/was over at Slaent and wonders why the thread mentioned that registration opened even though it's not, was that for a brief couple of minutes registration was accidentally opened up through the regular account creation method, unintentionally, which is when a few more like me just barely managed to register thanks to some observant Slaent thread users/mods catching that manual registration seemingly went live, which didn't last long, since they too didn't realize it was unintentional since one of the two gathering threads there was then locked since it seemed like everything was ready and its use was over.
Like you said, way too many ways to not even be aware any of this, plus miss out or not even be aware of the discords or until too late (or even know what the heck discord is), that hopefully it won't take too long until they can open real registration for more members to be able to get in without having too wait overly long.

    • RE: EA Shuts Down Visceral Games (Deadspace, Amy Hennig's Star Wars game)

@Carlos said in EA Shuts Down Visceral Games (Deadspace, Amy Hennig's Star Wars game):

I'm with Brandon on his comments towards EA/Closure of Visceral. That press release reads like a corporate speak. I think that Brandon is interested in a story-based Star Wars game.

As am I. His emphatic comments on the podcast about it mimic'd how I feel about it. I loved hearing them.

I was so excited for a Hennig, Uncharted-style, story-based Star Wars game. Star Wars was perfect for it and it sounded like exactly what I wanted from a new single-player Star Wars game, especially when Hennig came onboard to the project.

Since I generally do more single-player it had been nice to have one to really look forward to. :(

@jaggafredde Yeah didn't realize how much I depended on GAF for news. Felt like I have no clue what's going on in gaming these days.

Hopefully if resetera is the thing it gets the juicy news and leaks that we used to get on gaf

Yeah, it really feels weird suddenly feeling like I'm catching so much less of the news and announcements. Especially since I don't really use twitter as well.

@DangerMouse Hi DangerMouse, good to see you too bud. Almost didn't recognise you without your awesome Kat avatar. ;)

Thanks, yes I love that image as an avatar. :)
I finally just found my folder where I saved it in a number of different sizes late last night but was busy all day so hadn't gotten to see which size works best in this new forum style, I think one of them will center well so I'll be switching soon lol. ^_^

    • RE: Anyone here from NeoGaf?

@Acquiescence Hey man, good to see you.

Yeah, I agree, it's extremely fractured which is the real part to be missed in this sort of vacuum. All of the really helpful people both in games and off-topic, the gathering of people thanks to time was pretty special for covering all manner of games from global developers with so many international members, and deep dive posts on tons of games even decades after release from old posters (like someone had just discovered Snatcher for example and the thread was getting deep into the game again and its development), plus all of the off-topic stuff that each built up regularly returning communities.

For a tiny example, like how the TV threads could go on indefinitely with people helping each other find the right set etc. for both games and movies, and setup and calibration problems. Normally you'd only get that on a TV or electronics forum but there were a ton of cross-media savvy people on the forum who could combine what you'd get on a TV/electronics enthusiast forum with a focus on PCs and console heavy usage. Likely due to timing with the forum growing with those people as they branched out into the working world.

    • RE: Last movie you watched

@Macka said in Last movie you watched:

Finally got around to seeing Blade Runner 2049 last night. I avoid trailers like the plague these days, so the only details I knew going in was that Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling were in it. I had pretty high expectations given this is Villeneuve, but some major concerns as well because it didn't seem like a film that needed a follow-up.

I was completely blown away. This is easily one of the best sequels ever made. It adds so much to the original. I always like to re-watch movies before giving them a 10...but I'm pretty fucking sure this is a 10/10 for me. I need to see it again before it leaves the cinema.

Same here, it really lived up to the hype I had going in when I finally got to see it last week and it impressed the hell out of me.

Also, it's really worth seeing on the big screen to take it all in and really get immersed in the atmosphere.

      @Erevador

Same here, was always very active in the EZA thread and loved the coverage ever since the GT days. :)
Gonna miss the specific games, fast news, and especially the off-topic live TV show reaction threads.

@Bloodworth said in Anyone here from NeoGaf?:

Welcome everyone. I definitely hope that GAF isn't gone for good. (I was at least lurking there before the Neo) I don't expect these forums to be a real replacement in any sense, but hopefully you can find a place here to feel at home and have some civil discussions.

      Thanks for the kind welcome!

Guess it's time to get a little more active since I've been lurking and just reading for a while since these forums went up as well lol :)
