    • RE: Backlog Chopping Block

@RayneSol Oh god no. I have no idea when I'll get to P5 NG+, man. Someone posted a code for The Stick of Truth on OpenCritic last night and I managed to grab it, so I've got that added to the list now too.

    • RE: Open World games that capture the sense of emptiness

No mention of NieR: Automata? I thought that game did a good job of presenting a dead, lifeless world. Just very empty and lonely, but strangely beautiful as well. I loved sprinting through the sand and kicking up all the particles.

    • RE: Backlog Chopping Block

I kinda want to abolish the idea of a backlog because it prevents me from enjoying what I'm currently playing in a sense... But right now I've got:

NG+ playthroughs for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Horizon: Zero Dawn
      DLC for Dark Souls III
      NG+ for Persona 5

I also want to get back and do another Bloodborne playthrough at some point.

    • RE: Assassin's Creed Origins (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

@ISee The game that did that for me was Revelations. I got to sequence 7, my PS3 hard drive corrupted and I lost my save, tried multiple times since to restart it and can't get past the opening sequence.

The yearly break does a lot to help it for sure. When a series changes up its control scheme, that's always a big indicator that actual changes were made. When I saw that Origins did that, it really intrigued me.

    • RE: Assassin's Creed Origins (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I loved the ideas of the original Assassin's Creed much more than the actual execution of them. While I think Black Flag was a fantastically fun pirate game, the peak of the AC series has always been 2 + Brotherhood to me. There were things I liked about most of the games since; though I HATED Revelations and skipped Syndicate.

If Origins can get near AC2+ACB again I'd be ecstatic, but nothing has matched the magic of those two games since. For me, at least.

    • RE: [Official] What are you playing?

About to finally boot up Prey. Been playing Destiny 2 almost non-stop for the last month and a half but I can't get the last piece of gear I need to get 305 on my third character, which bums me out. Took a bit of a break to play SOMA too.

Just finished Blood & Wine for Witcher III. I've done pretty much everything in that game except Gwent, horse races, and fighting clubs. That side stuff just doesn't interest me. Oh, and I guess I still have 90-something undiscovered locations in Skellige I can't be bothered to sail around to...

I started Teslagrad the other day. Unfortunately I started backtracking and got stuck somewhere I can't get out of, so I have to restart... I'll get back to that game eventually. Now I'm starting up Furi since that's free on PSN this month and it looks super cool. I've also been playing a ton of Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends lately. Just good, dumb fun, and it's nice to play one of those games after so many years ignoring them.

    • RE: "Bad" Games that You Love

Is Dynasty Warriors considered bad? I loved the games on PS2, became disillusioned with them in my teenage/Call of Duty years, but I just picked up DW8 Xtreme Legends on a PSN sale and I'm having a blast with it! The 2010 Medal of Honor gets a lot of hate too, and I love the campaign in that game.
