    • RE: What Podcasts (besides the obvious EZAP and Frame Trap) do you listen to?

      I listen to a number, but here's a few I'd recommend:

The Dollop: It's an American history podcast presented by two comedians. They talk about some of the dumber parts of the nation's history, with some of the truely horrible things sprinkled in. Basically things you wouldn't be told in an American history class.

Triforce: Two dads and one nondad talk for an hour, tell stories, and riff off eachother.

My Dad Wrote a Porno: A guy reads his 60ish year old dad's "erotic novel" to two friends. It's very badly written and very funny. Not for children, if that wasn't obvious.

    • RE: [Official] What are you playing?

I've been playing through Heat Signature, which is a roguelite in space. It has missions of variable length/difficulty, so you can hop in and out for a some short missions, or put in some more serious time if you like, which is something I really appreciate. It's from the same creator as Gunpoint and the mechanics feel very similar, which may or may not mean something to you. It's good fun.

    • RE: Nintendo Direct: Literally NintenDOOMED!

@El-Shmiablo In addition to what @Haru17 said, Doom and Wolfenstein's engines (id Tech6 and id Tech5, respectively) are apparently much better optimized that the Creation Engine, which is used by Skyrim and Fallout 4

I've been working my way through Hollow Knight. I've been having to play it in ~2 hour chunks because I get frustrated (mad cuz bad), but I'm having fun despite that. The game is gorgeous, as well, both visually and with regard to sound.

    • RE: Last game you finished

I had a lot of spare time this last week, so I have three games I just finished.

      Mirror's Edge
I didn't enjoy it much, but at least it was short. For a game that's all about freerunning, it seemed very linear and restrictive. It was also annoying when the context-sensitive controls were being not-all-that-context-sensitive.

      Shadow of the Colossus
I would neither recommend it nor dissuade someone from playing it, which I suppose makes it the perfect 5/10 for me. The actual colossus fights were really fun, but everything else in the game bogs it down: the camera, the empty world, the "#deep" ending, and the dang horse, especially when the story tries to utilize the player's attachment to the horse, when there's no reason for the player to have that attachment in the first place. I could rant in detail, but I'll just leave it at this.

      SteamWorld Dig
My favorite of the bunch. The gameplay is rewarding and the shops/economy are well designed. There's just something about mining in games that scratches an itch for me. Even though it's short, it's the only one of the three that I felt had replayability. Shoutout to the person in chat during the Knack 2 stream that said SteamWorld Dig was free on Origin.

    • RE: Easy Allies Podcast - Official Discussion Thread

If anybody is interested in playing Marble Blast Ultra, the delisted xbox 360 game mentioned during corrections, you can download a PC port here. I coincidentally learned about it a few days ago and it's a pretty fun game. Keep in mind that this is NOT an official release

    • RE: E3 2017 Conference Ratios

@TheTaulbster So was Devolver's conference not technically an E3 conference, in a similar way the PC gaming show isn't?

    • RE: Bethesda E3 2017 Discussion

I wanna mention the Skyrim Switch edition because it was, in my opinion, the funniest part of the conference.

For starters, motion control. I feel bad for whoever had to take the time to implement that. I can't imagine it being anything other than clunky, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's only there to add another bullet point to the reasons why you should totally buy this edition of a six year old game.

There's also the Link amiibo implementation that turns the game into weird BotW DLC featuring Skyrim. It was the crème de la crème of unnecessary on an already unnecessary game.

The music, though, was the first thing to make me laugh. Now, I really like Passion Pit and think Take a Walk is a great song, but I'm confident that someone saw the title, didn't listen to it, but said, "hey, let's use this cuz 'mobile,' hehe!" It was a very unexpected song and really did not go with the rest of the conference or even its own ad.

So I thank you, Bethesda, for bringing some levity, no matter how unintentional it may have been.

    • RE: E3 2017 Bets Showdown

@Hazz3r Well, 0^0 is undefined (which the link you shared does mention), but their reasoning for why it "should" be 1 doesn't make sense, as undefined is exactly what 0^0 should be. 0^0 isn't defined any more than 0/0 isn't defined. The math student in me is not going to let this slide. Niether Ultima nor Coldblooded should get the point if there were non of either

    • RE: Pokémon Direct 6/6 at 7 am Pacific

UltraSun and UltraMoon is very disappointing, and it makes me feel kinda ripped off by Nintendo. There won't be enough differences to warrant buying it, but at the same time I now have the clearly inferior version. It just feels dirty, as is the Pokemon way.

And @DMCMaster, I wouldn't be too sure about these ones doing as well. Sun and Moon were a lot of people's first Pokemon games, and I doubt new players will be as willing to buy a game that looks what they already own.
