First time poster!
I'll keep it short and keep it unrealistic.
No announcement could make me happier than Sleeping Dogs 2. Would also be pumped for a 2D Castlevania.
I thought it was heartbreaking listening to Huber talk about his reasons for quitting Overwatch on the latest podcast. You shouldn't be a dick to anyone in a game, but imagine being mean to Huber. I know they almost certainly had no idea who he is, but he's such a nice, sincere guy!
Winner: Bethesda. Wolfenstein, Evil Within 2 and Dishonored 2 expansion all this year. Wolfenstein was my game of the show. Mario + Rabbids also looks awesome.
Loser: I thought the way Metroid 4 and Pokemon Switch were announced lacked any sort of imagination. Not a way to build hype.
Weirdo: Mario Odyssey weirds me out. First it was the people in New Donk City, now it's taking control of other things like bullets and goombas.
@Black-Cell said in Will Metro Exodus surpass Doom to dethrone FPS king of this generation?:
Y'all silly, Overwatch is the best FPS this generation, obviously! :D
but its MP only. No SP and sold at full price = rip off
beside overwatch is anime version of team fortress 2.
I don't understand that SP/MP mentality. No one complains that FPS' like Wolfenstein or Prey are only SP, but for some reason it's unacceptable for a game to only be MP. The Star Wars Battlefront moaning a couple of years back was unbelievable.
It was a superb film. Probably Nolan's best effort yet. Mark Rylance is an absolutely superb actor. The cinematography was awesome, and the score had me feeling terrified throughout the film.
This is a film that I think you must see at the cinema to get the full experience. Don't wait to see it at home.
Bridge of Spies.
Absolutely brilliant. Great directing from Spielberg, and great acting by Hanks and Rylance. Rylance's Oscar and Bafta wins for this was richly deserved. Interesting that the Cohen brothers wrote this film but didn't direct it. They're such great writers, I wonder if they were just script doctors or if they were more instrumental than that. This could really have been a boring legal film in the wrong hands, but the Cohens and Spielberg knocked it out of the park.
Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol
After the average M:I 1 and the awful M:I 2, I swore off M:I films around 15 years ago, but heard this is great so gave it a whirl. And it was a great, globe trotting spy mission with lots of style and a great sense of fun. Classic Tom Cruise. Loved it.
Seinfeld, The Leftovers, Chuck, Friday Night Lights, Lost.
I finally bought a Switch. I love the system, it's a really stylish piece of tech. And I'm actually enjoying playing some of the time in handheld, even thought I bought it primarily to be a home console. I'm playing Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8.
When it was released I heard a lot of commentary about Odyssey being too easy, but being really precise with the controls is an issue, so I wouldn't like for the game to be any harder. The boss battles are all lacking inspiration too. That being said, I'm still loving my time with the game. It has strong Mario 64 vibes, and I'm enjoying the creativity and vibrancy of the game. This is my first Nintendo system since the DS, and this is the type of experience you don't really get on other consoles. Great game.
Mario Kart 8 is super. My OCD means that I have to get 3* on all the tournaments in order starting with the 50cc grand prix. I'm nearing the end of the 100cc grand prix, and it's not been to challenging yet. Because I'm always leading in the races the only weapon types I've really seen are bananas and green shells, so hopefully 150cc and 200cc will prove more challenging.
