    • RE: ARLO the lovable gaming muppet!

Arlo on Friendcode is something I never knew I wanted. That would be a total blast. I am picturing the puppet sitting behind the table with some of the allies and it's cracking me up.

Ever since his channel blew up he's been consistently a great watch. His feelings on Paper Mario, which pretty much made him famous are nearly parallel with mine. I love his positive outlook, but he's also got a critical mind on subjects of gaming, with Nintendo being his area of expertise.

    • RE: Has Your "Favorite" Game Ever Changed?

This is a good question for me, given the circumstances of this year having a new 3D Zelda game in Breath of the Wild, which I absolutely love, with my all time favorite game being Ocarina of Time.

To be upfront, Breath of the Wild did not overtake Ocarina's importance to me, but it's the first Zelda in a long time to really challenge Ocarina's placement as my favorite Zelda game, and game in general. There are many things BotW does better than OoT, the overworld, and its emphasis on freedom and exploration blows any other Zelda game out of the water.

However, the reason I treasure Ocarina isn't merely because it was a big deal to me as a kid. I find it to be to this day the most complete Zelda package I could want. It's got a great balance of dungeons (which is where BotW falls short on the hardest), combat, story, characters, music, sidequests, and more. Other Zelda games have surpassed Ocarina on certain fronts, but they usually focus on one or two aspects majorly, whereas Ocarina covers everything well to me.

I think if the next Zelda game takes what made BotW so great, and brought back what it lacked, (traditional dungeons, more vibrant music, and a more interesting story) then Ocarina could get topped. Oh, and make Link left handed again Nintendo, that will score some points for the next game. ;)

    • RE: E3 Top Five! - The top five games you are most excited for!

Honorable mention to Splatoon 2. It comes out in a month so I feel it would be silly to count it since it's so close. But it's definitely one of the games I'm the most excited for in general.

Fire Emblem Warriors Even if those games are not particularly amazing, Fire Emblem is one of my favorite series, and ever since Hyrule Warriors I wanted a Fire Emblem version. And we got it, so I'm super down to put in too much time into the game.

Mario + Rabbids I had a bit more faith in this game going into E3 because I could not imagine Nintendo letting someone make a poor quality game of Mario. Knowing it turned out to be very promising feels good.

God of War Not going to lie, last year I was worried about the combat of this game. The axe (forgive me Huber) looked very dull compared to the twin blades the series is known for. However, the combat flow looked much more exciting, and the story has me interested.

Metroid Samus Returns Big Metroid fan, seeing Metroid Prime 4 is a real thing, even without any info is totally fine with me. But since it's so far away, I need something new to tide me over. Here comes Samus Returns, which looks very solid, and it's a remake of a game I don't care too much for, which is really nice.

SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY!!!!!!!!!! I've seen enough people here explain why it belongs on my list. It's a game I am dying to jump (pun slightly intended) into asap. I felt the same about BotW from last year, and it's crazy Nintendo managed to get me like this two years in a row.

My list is super Nintendo centric, butthey are just killing it this year and it feels good to be excited for so many of their games.

    • RE: Mario Kart 8 (NS/WiiU)

I was super hesitant to buy this again since I had MK on Wii U and played it a bunch, but I could not deny myself the fun of the zeitgeist of getting it day one. I do not regret getting the second version because in just a minute in I remembered how much I loved the original. I definitely would not immediately recommend it to people who had it on Wii U, it's only if you really loved the original. If you never owned it on Wii U, it's a must have Switch game, no question.

Battle mode has never been a big deal to me, another reason why I wasn't sure about getting MK8D since battle mode is basically the main selling point for people who already owned the game. But online it's amazing, the most fun I have ever had in MK battle mode. Though I am getting annoyed that I never get to be the renegade in Renegade round up, I'm always made the police, which I don't find as fun. But I'm just being unlucky there.

Also being a huge fan of Splatoon and the Inklings, having them in this game is so right! Looking at my stats the Inkling Girl is my most used character. It's hard to deny the cuteness.

I am totally down to participate in an EZA tourney. I'll keep an eye on the thread to see where this all goes.

    • RE: Pokemon Trade Thread

@BananaForkliftKiller Oh that's very fair. I really can't wait to bring in all my favorites that I know won't be in this game.

By the way, I can start doing a starter giveaway soon for anyone interested. I just need a Litten to be able to breed them. Along with some Jangmo-o since it's a really neat late game Pokemon.

    • RE: Pokemon Trade Thread

@BananaForkliftKiller Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I figured the bank would not be there at launch sadly. I wish it was at least available very soon, but we may have to wait for a while. At the same time, I kinda enjoy the brief period where everyone has to start from scratch like this. It makes for more cooperation between players since we are all so desperate to get stuff.

    • RE: Pokemon Trade Thread

I'll gladly start breeding Pokemon like starters for people who want them, but I still need to get my hands on a Ditto to help with that. I have access to the day care on the second island. I don't have anything to offer of value at the moment but if anyone has a spare Ditto, let me know. c:

Glad to see others voted for Paper Mario TTYD too, it is a must play Mario RPG, and personally a must play game in general. A real masterpiece. <3 u <3

I haven't been commenting on the thread, but I've found the results very great so far. Not too many of my super faves have shown up, but the list is really respectable.
