    • RE: If you Could Make Huber Ask for Something...

The same thing I ask for every TGS..... suikoden 6. It's been a long 13 years and there are so many unresolved plot threads and geographical locations they've yet to visit.

Late to the party, but wanted to say that kyle had me in stitches with his "little pig, little pig" antics from 2 weeks ago.

He missed a prime opportunity to milk it one final time with his trademark sign off.

    • RE: Soul Calibur VI (PS4/PC/XBO)

For those of you that don't follow the FGC with a magnifying glass, Cervantes and Raphael were accidentally leaked during an event in Australia over the weekend.

Someone from namco provided the wrong demo build for the event, it had Cervantes and Raphael who were previously unannounced. Seung mina, astaroth, Voldo, talim, and azwel were also playable. (No previous build has had these characters accessible.

    • RE: How to get into fighting games?

I'll co-sign everything e_zed offered you and add a couple pieces of advice of my own.

After reading your introductory post I see some hesitation on your part over execution. You may want to look at 3D fighters like tekken and soul calibur over 2d like street fighter and dragon ball fighterz.

The execution barrier is far less in 3D games, but there is always a character or 2 that have high execution so if you eventually do get a taste for that, it's still available.

There is a lot more knowledge and memorization/move recognition in 3D fighters just because of the sheer number of moves available. While this feels daunting at first it really allows for individuality to shine through in ones play style.

This also allows "bad matchups" to feel more manageable in 3D fighters because while they do exist they don't feel as daunting as 2d where character design and limited move selection really create some rough 8-2 scenarios.

Like e_zed mentioned, learn to be ok with losing and try to identify why you lost. There is always something to be gained from a loss. Finding newer players who are just learning the game as well is a good tool to level up without feeling overwhelmed by a veteran.

My expertise is soul calibur so when 6 drops if you have any interest let me know!

@smoothrunes absolutely man. Fighting games are a pretty steep learning curve and you have to be ok with losing a lot before you get better. Nowadays it's so easy to record video to go back and watch your matches and help understand why certain things worked out the way they did. I'll definitely hit you up when SC6 drops.

    • RE: EZA: Username list! Explain your username!

kAb is a truncated version of my handle from all the way back in 2002. At the time I had just gotten into soul calibur 2 with kilik being my main character. I registered on the soulcalibur.com forums with the handle kilikAbeast.

This name was a two headed monster for me. Kilik was my new obsession in calibur 2, but I was also concurrently playing final fantasy 10. If you recall, the blitzball team from kilika was the beasts. Hence kilikAbeast was born.

I used that handle for some time but as I started to get more and more known in the calibur and tekken community people would always shorten it to kAb. It just kinda stuck from there.

    • RE: Welcome to the Easy Allies Forums!

I see this thread doesn't get used super often, nonetheless it seemed like the best place for an intro post.

Long time fan of the allies, going all the way back to GT days. I appreciate the thoughtful commentary on games and gaming that they all provide. Their style is so much more appreciated than the current trend of zaniness or insincere reactions that come from many popular YouTubers/streamers. I grew up in the late 80s through the 90s so I find that many of the allies experiences with gaming resonate with my own.

Moved to an unfamiliar BIG city (Houston) and ended a rather long relationship in 2016, the allies in their infancy helped me through a lot of hard/lonely times. The traffic here is insane and the drive to work was made far more tolerable simply by listening to some EZA while in transit.

As mentioned previously, I've long consumed their media but never felt the need/desire to interact with the community. Hearing @BenMoore be so hyped about soul calibur 6 I figured it was finally time to reveal myself.

Longtime member/competitor in the FGC with soul calibur and tekken being my main games. I'd love to offer my tutelage to Ben and any other interested parties when soul calibur 6 drops in October. Please feel free to drop me a line.

I look forward to being a part of this incredible community and getting to know everyone better.

EDIT: something I forgot to mention as a random tidbit about myself. I had my 15 minutes of gamer fame back in 2004 when I was selected as Mr sexiest gamer by gamer.tv. Got to be on xplay and even got a blurb in EGM. Ashley Jenkins aka jinx was the female winner from this contest. I was not as social media savvy back then and squandered my chance to parlay that contest into something more like she did. Great memories regardless.
