Even with zero expectations, trash is still trash. I think that's reason enough.

@Kneefoil Just to be clear, for these forum bets the Brim to Brim Bomb Bets are just normal bets for us. That is, you want to answer what you think will happen to get the point.
I also have no clue who LanDi is.
Oh right, I just copy/pasted my bets from another place where I made them. So for those brim-to-brims I typed the opposites of what I personally expected while watching still the video.

RE: What Games Do You Think Should Be Remade?
@michemagius
I too really wanna see a Persona 2 remake. Not just IS, though. I want them to wrap both Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment into one wholesome package, modernize the visuals, battle system and dungeons, and ship it.
Another video game I want to see reimagined is Zelda II: Adventure of Link. Give it the Metroid: Samus Returns treatment. Changing the name to The Legend of Zelda: Link's Adventure would not be necessary, and I'd prefer if they kept to drawn visuals instead of 3D models, but the chances of that are increasingly unlikely the longer it takes for this game to be remade (if it ever will).
The first Zelda game would be deserving of a similar remake, but I really do think that Zelda II needs it more. Zelda 2's systems have so much more potential, but the game is just so punishing and hard to learn, that it turns off most newcomers who try it nowadays. It has really good combat, I like how magic is implemented, and I think that the level up system is great too. Maybe it'd be better if they changed the level up system so that you would gain exp. from side quests instead of combat, like in Okami, I'm not sure. But having the option to pick from boosting either health, magic or attack is good, especially because the benefit you get from each level up is always noticeable.

RE: Is Open World games killing Single Player games?
A pretty interesting quote from a ex-Bioware Montreal gameplay designer.
Manveer Heir said to Eurogamer:
"It's definitely a thing inside of EA," he said, "they are generally pushing for more open-world games. And the reason is you can monetise them better. The words in there that were used are 'have them come back again and again' [not quite but that's the gist - see above]. Why do you care about that at EA? The reason you care about that is because microtransactions: buying card packs in the Mass Effect games, the multiplayer. It's the same reason we added card packs to Mass Effect 3: how do you get people to keep coming back to a thing instead of 'just' playing for 60 to 100 hours?
So it seems like EA's preferring open world in order to have people come back to the game more, hopefully also spending more time and money on multiplayer. That didn't even cross my mind, but I suppose it makes sense. I really thought it was just because they focus tested the games to hell and back, and the responses they got were that people wanted open world and the ability to play with their buddies.

RE: Anyone here from NeoGaf?
@Carmichael
I'm sure there are, although not as many as there used to be. Anyone being a mod right now would have to defend why they are still supporting the website, were they completely transparent about the mods. No one wants to deal with that crap, especially now that the forums are likely going to pretty chaotic for a while. -

Basically EvilLore denies everything, will be putting GAF back online possibly without Off Topic, former mod says that they walked out because even though he was active, EvilLore refused to put the statement up after promising it.
I don't know why he thought claiming that the other party had serious mental health issues was going to fly, especially with the GAF crowd. It's not too long that GAF got angry at someone else doing something similar, IIRC. Other than that, his statements were pretty much what I expected: total denial.
I would miss Off Topic mainly for a couple of the community threads. JoJo anime and Berserk threads come to mind at least, although both JoJo anime and Berserk manga are on hiatus, and are like that quite frequently, so it's not like losing OT would be a huge loss for me. I also like to take a look in the Dragon Ball Super community thread
, but it's usually pretty bad.@jaggafredde said in Anyone here from NeoGaf?:
If he does get it back online working as before with all your post history and great OTs etc intact, except for the off topic segment. Will you return?
Really depends on what happens with the community and the sub-communities, as well as how ResetEra will end up being. I can see myself using both. I use an adblocker on GAF anyway.
@dmax3901 said in Anyone here from NeoGaf?:
Yeah that article is horrifying, there's no way I'm using NeoGAF now without feeling gross about it.
Thing about ResetERA is... I don't know if my uni email would cut it anymore. Has anyone used their work email with any success? lol
I'm fairly certain a lot of people have been using work emails with GAF, although I myself have been using a university email. I think the main reason they have the rule is to keep trolls away, and making it harder for banned people to come back.
ResetEra will likely stick to that.
@Oscillator said in Anyone here from NeoGaf?:
The #1 problem I had with NeoGAF was the tendency to inject politics into EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING. Video games are for playing, not politicizing. Before GAF, the only gaming-related politics I had contact were the age old debates about violence and scantily clad women, and maybe occasionally jingoism. I'm not surprised at all that so many people have a grudge against the site. I would love it if any potential successor would stick to real video game talk like Easy Allies tends to. Heck, the few times that they've brought up politics, more than likely it was GAF that lit the fuse.
Fat chance of that happening, IMO. I feel like it's the people who care the most about that kind of stuff that are also the most likely to leave GAF because of what happened.

RE: Anyone here from NeoGaf?
Y'know, this whole ResetEra thing made me realize that Siliconera consists of the two words "silicon" and "era". In all these years, it somehow never clicked with me that it isn't just a weird made up word with "silicon" in it. :P

@Oscillator They appear both after the OP and at the bottom of the page in every thread I look at. Using the newest version of Chrome, and I've turned on "pagination instead of infinite scroll" in the forum settings.
