@lotias Oh I see, that's offensive but telling someone to jump into the sun because they are human garbage for not sharing your (((correct))) opinion is fine. You didn't seem to understand why I made that comment but you did prove the point I made.

Listen, everybody, if you weren't offended on the behalf of the trans community or thought that the twitter comment they made was ''extremely offensive'', then you're human garbage that deserves to die - EZA, 2018

@lotias It's not extremely offensive lmao, get over yourselves. This forum is a joke and the fact that El Shmiablo's comment gets a pass but not mine is just proof of that. Geez.

They should get over it, anyone who says otherwise is a fucking waste of space who should jump off the next bridge they see.

@el-shmiablo I always play with my friends as well but we were usually just 2-3 people when we used to play CSGO, at least that game pretty much requires you to communicate with the rest of your team via voice, in my experience.

@dmcmaster I honestly haven't participated in open chat in years.
I'm either in a party chat with friends or mute everyone out of the gate.

They probably realize that the only people still participating in publuc open chat are either trolls who should be banned or children who shouldn't be playing the game anyway.

Public (team)voice chat is very important in tactical team games like CSGO, R6:Siege and even Overwatch.

    • RE: What is/was your favourite online multiplayer game?

Halo 3 is probably my favorite online game of all time, it had an incredible effect on me and gaming around the time it came out and years after.

My current favorite online game is probably Fortnite, me and my friends started playing BR games back in 2015 when H1Z1 released the real ''first'' BR game and I quickly accumulated around 700 hours in 2 years before the game took a turn for the worse. Also bought PUBG at launch but I only got 100 hours or so clocked, it was pretty...meh? Fortnite is fun, it brought its own spin to the BR genre and they're constantly releasing content for it.

What if it's not ''so small''?

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

meeting more people should change that.

You could meet every kind of person in the world you ''just met more people'', what's your point?

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

the more people you meet as a whole, the more Asian people you should encounter.

It depends on where in America you live, you could meet 1 asian person or 5 or 0 depending on where you live.

      @tokeeffe9

      Sounds good to me.

You said "fact" but It was off by more than 3x the population of Canada ¯_(ツ)_/¯
      Just helping you out.

Thanks but my point still stands, buddy.

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

This is a contradictory statement. If your sample size is so small that as an adult human being you have encountered one lesbian in your entire life, that's increasingly statistically increasingly improbable the more people you meet.

It's not a contradictory statement if you actually read the rest of the reply. You don't even know my sample size LUL According to what statistics? That 3% of the world is gay? So at least 3% of all people I've met must be gay and if not I just need to go out more, right?

That ''increasing statistic'' can be almost any number depending on where you live and where you go.

98% of the population is in fact hetero.

That is actually NOT a fact. If you'd have said 96.5%, that would be the closest global estimate we have right now, but depending on where you live, that percentage goes down significantly.

Sounds like you should get out and meet some more people.

I was just throwing out an estimate, sorry that it was so incredibly off /s

Yeah because if your social circle isn't at least 50% gay, you should get out more.

      @mcgeezaks

A significant handful of the friends I've made since 2013 when I started university are openly gay, and trans. In my close group, 3 of 6 are gay. They have boyfriends and girlfriends and none of this was out of the ordinary on campus, at work, in public, or at home.

Not only is this entirely normal, but I am confused at to where a gay kiss is so standout-ish.

Didn't T.a.t.u make that music video with a lesbian kiss in like 2001? Are we not past this phase?

Good for you? You're a special case, I've only met 1 lesbian in my entire life. When you meet a person you just assume they're hetero since like 98% of the population is in fact hetero.

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

@dipset MTV's Best Kiss award in 2000 went to Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar in Cruel Intentions. Which is still a good movie.

Girls kissing other girls happens on like The CW now. It's about the least shocking thing ever.

Seems like that's your underlying point, yeah.

Then you should practice your reading comprehension.

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

People shouldn't think twice about lesbians kissing either. They do it a lot. Pretty normal.

But people do because it's not the norm.

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

Are you aware that it sounds like you just said that the right way to handle black people is to not to acknowledge their race unless you're making it funny? That seems... ill worded.

The best and right way is to not acknowledge their race at all, because being/having a black character shouldn't be painted up to be a big deal.

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

Strange, I learned more about the current situation in the game from that scene than I did from the first two trailers combined.

That doesn't say much since they told us absolutely nothing.

So your argument is that media should only reflect the majority?

Yes that's totally what I'm saying.

No I'm saying that people won't think twice when straight people kiss because it's the norm in every society.

@tokyoslim said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

then it's also ok for videogames to have non-straight protagonists in them

I never said otherwise, I don't know why you're assuming so much.

or the people like me who don't define a person's whole worth and motivation based on who they kiss.

Give yourself a good 'ol pat yourself on the back.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

I think that's the thing right there.
How does Ellie being a lesbian feel forced or not a natural choice? Why can't a character be gay or a girl or black just for the hell of it? Why are white straight male characters the norm, but any other character type has to justify its existence somehow?

I don't know why you're grouping all of these things together but to answer your question, I don't care what gender/sexuality my character has unless the developers are being really tryhards about it

''Hey guys, wamen can be STRONK and cool to, did u know that?!''

''Did I mention I was BLACK?''

''Don't forget that I'm LESBIAN guys!''

It can be done right. Lee Everett from TWD is one of my favorite vidya characters of all time, the only time I think his race was brought up was in a comedic conversation during episode 2. I also like nu-Lara Croft better than the douche Drake from Uncharted.

I have no idea why they even included that dancing and kissing scene in the E3 trailer, they could've cut it and no real information would've been lost. I just think it was weird and weirdly cut, but that's just my opinion.

The norm is that there's straight, gay, bisexual, trans, asexual, and a whole host of other variations of sexuality, gender, and ethnicity.

Not sure what you're implying or trying to argue about but when it comes to sexuality, hetero is the norm.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

I was addressing the people who think making a lead character homosexual automatically means having a political agenda and should be denounced.

Nothing wrong with having a gay character in your game unless it feels forced. You have to wonder why they would replace a seasoned host with a lesbian blogger who doesn't play video games for their Q&A/presentation of the game or why the only person Druckmann handpicked to be a VA just happened to be trans and a ''SJW''.

How the hell is the trailer about Ellie being a lesbian?? We already know she is from the previous game, it's not even like it's a big reveal.

Not the entire thing but a big focus is on her being lesbian, obviously.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

If all you took away from it is "Ugh they're shoving the fact she's a lesbian down our throats", then I repeat, YOU are the one looking for a problem.

I never said that, you're just assuming the worst out of me.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

If she kissed a dude you wouldn't say they're making her heterosexuality the theme of the game, would you?

Why would I? Being straight is the norm.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

So ask yourself why it irks you so much.

I'll say it again, if it did bother me ''so much'' I wouldn't buy the game.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

What "politically charged topic" is being brought into TLOU 2? If you're referring to the fact that Ellie has a girlfriend, how is this having a political agenda? Naughty Dog aren't the ones making a big deal out of it, you guys are!

They aren't? Is that why half of the E3 trailer was about Ellie being a lesbian? They're the ones making her being a lesbian a big deal, not ''us guys'', whatever you meant by that. I don't know how you got that from my comment, if I thought it was a big deal then I wouldn't be buying the game.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

The main character of this game just happens to be a lesbian girl. It's not supposed to be revolutionary

Yet they're acting like it is.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

Homosexuality isn't the theme of the game, is it?

      Could've fooled me.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

hey had Nathan Drake who was very much a generic gung-ho straight white dude as a lead for 4 games

Yet he won the best protagonist on this very forum (I don't like him either).

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

now they want to mix things up with a lesbian white girl.

Oh yeah, they made that very clear.

@axel said in The Naughty Dog Agenda:

The only people making it political are the people complaining about it.

First page and the guy's already been called sperglord weirdo who has no life.

      alt text

OT: It's very obvious that they have an agenda, they even said it themselves. I don't like when they bring in politically charged topics into video games, that's not why I play them. It's not a deal breaker when it comes to me buying the game, if it's good then it's good but I hate the fact that everything has to be about genders, race, and politics, I'm just tired of it all.

With that said I'm sure TLOU2 will be a great game even if it oozes ''Look how progressive we are!!'' from the developers.
