FF XV
No Man's Sky (If there is a Black Friday sale)
Pokemon Moon
Whatever I end up getting for Christmas.
Small list but I got a huge backlog to work on so this is a good time to save some money lol.

I see several mentions of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze which reminds me of how fantastic Donkey Kong Country 1-3 are for the SNES. DK2 being one of my all time favorite soundtracks. I would go to the sound test options and just sit and listen and get lost in the music back when I was a kid.
A friend introduced it to me to Gametrailers back in 2010 when footage for the Starcraft 2 leaked for the first time. According to Bosman on a twitch stream last year that footage wasn't suppose to be uploaded haha. Anyway I then discovered their game review section and was intrigued by "the voice". I loved the way Brandon broke down everything in a timely manner. From there I discovered various other shows like Annoyed Gamer, Pacht Attack, Screwattack, and the tale end of Invisible Walls which is where I was introduced to Huber and Bloodworth for the first time. I discovered more and more shows over the years learning who different people were and never looked back.
ooo nice. I'll be lurking around the internetz tomorrow. I wasn't expecting this.
@Brannox Thanks for the tip! Good to know. It doesn't help that other games distract me from the series. Plus back then I was too worried about getting all the achievements which looking back on it now I feel took away a lot of the freedom the game has and forced me to stick with a specific route which made things more tedious than it needed to be. I am interested in the lore which is why I keep entertaining the thought of coming back again. I feel guilty quitting the first game because I feel like I'm messing out knowing what ME 2 and 3 has to offer. I'll probably try again with the first one without worrying about achievements/trophies and and see if that makes the experience more enjoyable. And if not then perhaps I'll give 2 a try. Sigh... another back log haha.
A nickname I was given from a friend during my prime of the Rock Band 2 and eventually 3 days. I was able to pass some really difficult songs on guitar expert mode and even completed the endless setlist as a full band. I'm not as good as I once was since I rarely play now but I look at it as a title to remind me of my glory days!
Mass Effect. I never gave 2 and 3 a try because I wanted to beat the first one for story purposes. I typically don't like jumping in mid series. But for the life of me I couldn't bring myself to finish the first game. I even started a second new game because I went a long time since playing it the first time and needed to refresh my memory on the mechanics of the game but again I just couldn't get all the way through it. I love sci fi, I love characters that involve telekinesis (Biotics) but for some reason it just wouldn't hold my interest. I'm tempted to give it a third try mostly because I want to try out ME 2 and 3. We'll see.
Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. I finally got a Wii U for Christmas and it was one of the top games I wanted to get and I just never got around to it. I also want to play Xenoblade X but I still want to finish Xenoblade Chronicles first. Great game so far!
As others have mentioned, story wise you don't need to play the earlier FFs. The only thing that carries over are elements from that universe. There are famous character names that get carried over but are different people per each FF. Mobs, summons, music, and other creatures also get carried over. You will catch things from earlier FF in FFXV which can help you appropriate it more. It can work backwards too. If you play FFXV first then go back to the earlier FFs you can see things you experienced in XV which can make them a little more exciting. If your biggest interest is FFXV then start with that then maybe go back to the earlier ones. If you start the earlier ones first with less interest then you'll just be forcing yourself to get through it.
