    • RE: Anime! Who's watching what?

Still into Lupin. The cliffhanger from the last episode is killing me. (Also, what’s with Lupin getting shot in the stomach this season?)

I need to catch up on My Hero Academia, but outside of that I’m pretty much up to date. The only new shows I’ve committed to watching this season are Banana Fish and Planet With. I’ll have to wait and see what other people are saying about the rest of the shows before I commit to any more.

Watched all of Wotakoi yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope there’s a season 2 somewhere down the line. I don’t watch a lot of romance anime, but I’m starting to think that I should watch more often.

    • RE: EZA Community Stream Days/Nights

Submitted the form. I won’t be able to stream until I get a new PC, but I’m happy to join in on multiplayer or races. And I’m happy to join in on chat (voice or otherwise).

I’m in! I can play on PS3/4 and Switch. My computer is on its last legs so no PC/Streaming on my end until I buy a new one (which will hopefully be in the next couple months). I work odd hours, but I pick my own schedule so I should be able to work things out. I don’t do much competitive multiplayer on PS4, but I’m down to try anything. I’m always ready for Splatoon or Mario Kart 8. Also I’ll play basically any racing game, JRPG, or 3D platformer.

    • Camp Fangamer Trivia Team

Hey everyone! This is probably a long shot, but Camp Fangamer is holding a video game Trivia Night for teams of 1-6. I don’t know anyone else who might be attending, but I’d like to participate. Are any of you guys attending this year, if so, would you like to form a Trivia Team? I can bring excessive knowledge about Mother, Mother 3, Persona, Pokemon, Wii party games, Okami, and Katamari to the table.

    • RE: Anime! Who's watching what?

I got super behind on anime this season so I’ve been trying to catch up. I’m up to date with Lupin III Part 5 and My Hero Academia (both are great btw), and I’d like to get caught up on Food Wars next. Still slowly making my way through Yu Yu Hakusho and Gundam Wing. YYH is great, but I’m honestly struggling to make it through Wing. I was told, after I was like 10 episodes deep, that I shouldn’t have started with Wing as my first Gundam series, but part of me thinks that if I’ve made it this far I should just keep going. (But seriously, Heero and Relena are terrible, can anyone tell me if they eventually get better?) I started Full Metal Panic on a whim last night and I’m only a few episodes deep, not sure what to think yet. I’m not really sold yet, but I’m not hard out either. Everyone who I’ve spoken to says it’s a really good show, so I’m going to give it another few episodes.

We finally got more details on the Yuri on Ice movie so I’m super pumped about that.

Also trying to figure out which shows I’m going to check out next season. I usually only watch 2 or 3 shows from the get go and wait a few weeks into a season to see what people’s thought are, before jumping into more shows. But this Summer season, nothing is really jumping out at me. I’m excited about the Natsume Yuujinchou movie, but that’s about it. I’ll definitely continue watching Lupin and MHA. Might pick up some shows from the last 2 seasons that I skipped like A Place Further than the Universe, Golden Kamuy, or Megalobox. I’m also considered taking the plunge and watching Darling and the Franxx just to see what all the fuss is about.

    • RE: What Are You Listening To?

June and July really crushed it in terms of new music, at least for my tastes.

-Chromeo’s new album “Head Over Heels” is definitely in my top 10 albums now.
-Gorillaz’ new album “The Now Now” is awesome, as expected. Still not sure where it places in my personal ranking of the Gorillaz albums, but it’s up there.
-Red Velvet’s Japanese Debut was killer. I loved both new songs, and their older songs included on the mini-album are some of their best.
-Taeyeon’s new song “Something New” has been on repeat for days. I lowkey have some beef with SNSD, but I can’t deny that she’s an amazing singer and that her music is great.
-Kyungri (From 9Muses) just made her solo debut with a stellar song, “Blue Moon”! Everything about this era is to die for.
-Katie Kim’s debut single, “Remember”, is just beautiful. Her voice is so unique and lovely. I really reccomend it.
-Tenny’s “159cm” is an incredible song with a great message and music video. It deserves way more attention than it’s getting.
-Twice’s “Dance The Night Away” quite literally, just came out and I think it’s one of their best comebacks. Here’s hoping that people stop sleeping on Jihyo because she really shines in this era.
-NeonPunch just debuted as the first group from a new and small company. It’s sad to see them get ignored because their debut single “Moonlight” is killer.
-This isn’t technically new music, but it’s kind of adjacent to it? EXID saved my life with their performance and Kcon! It’s so great to see them getting the recognition that they deserve! I so wish I could have been there!

I’ve also been getting into music from older artists. The fact that some of these folks have lasted as long as they have really goes to show how much talent and charisma they have.
-Lee Hyori will forever be one of the 3 true Queens of Kpop. She just has this insane presence that you can hear through her music, and though her latest releases have been a bit different than her usual style, they’re still totally bewitching.
-BoA, another one of my Queens. The more I explore her enormous catologue of albums and singles, the more I realize that she straight up only makes great music. Not only that, but even 18 years after he debut, she’s still setting the standard for exceptional performance.
-Um Jung Hwa, the third Queen. This woman is literally unstoppable. In an industry that usually forces idols to retire by the age of 30, Um Jung Hwa is out here at 49, absolutely crushing it, and outperforming most other people in her field.
-G.O.D. has some great timeless hits that will instantly boost your mood.

    • What’s Your Fighting Style?

I’ve been playing Splatoon 2 quite a lot recently and it’s made me realize a few things about how I prefer to play games. Splatoon 2 is the first game I’ve gotten into (outside of Pokémon or Mario Kart) That has some sort of competitive aspect, and I can see in a more direct way, how my playstyle differs from others.

I tend to prefer close or mid range weapons in games that are reasonably fast. Long range weapons always trip me up and weapons with a lot of power but low fire rate do the same. I think this probably has something to do with my inability to aim well at long range, but also with how I fight in real life. I’ve studied Taekwon-Do for many years (I don’t attend practice as often as I should any more due to school/work), and in real life my fighting style resembles that of how I play in game. I prefer to get in close when fighting someone who is significantly larger than me and hit at areas with sensitive nerves. Since I can’t beat them in power, I can at least beat them in speed, and at close range a jumeok to the throat will hurt like hell, regardless of the size difference. I think that mentality of getting in close and prioritizing speed carries over into how I play games.

So, what’s your preferred fighting style? How did you come to develop that style? Do you have a preference at all.
