You should know before you dive into versus that its just a 3D arena fighting game. Try the demo before you buy as it's definitely an acquired taste. Think along the lines of the final fantasy dissidia series
Once a former moderator of the old Gametrailers website, (RIP).
He's glad to be back at EZA though, and proud to help the community grow and be one of the most awesome it can be on the web!

RE: Thoughts on Shane, Sifted and the CyberPunk 2077 audio "leak"
One of the greatest ethical debates as a journalist is what to do with privileged information, ie information that is told to you in confidence with a expectation that it won't necessarily be used by the journalist.
Shane's not wrong when he says "I'm trained to do this!" because as a journalist you are never truly obligated to keep things off the record (even an NDA), but you should carefully weigh the consequences of breaking people's trust in you in the name of telling a story or disseminating information.
The procedural step of not requiring NDAs to spell out how the story and information presented was to be spread, is generally a sign of good faith. And in that same good faith, I don't think it's unreasonable for Shane to have recorded audio of the presentation. If someone is talking for 30 minutes about this and that it's easy to lose potentially important specific details, and a recording can help someone tell a better and more accurate story than just one's initial personal and subjective feelings.
That said I personally think Shane made a mistake listening to the internet and releasing the recording in the manner he did. While other outlets did cover it, part of the appeal of individual outlets is hearing and reading their unique voice cover it. Hell as an example it's why a lot of people like Easy Allies, since they have a unique voice among many possible gaming channels and outlets.
Going in for a scoop can be low hanging fruit (Kotaku practically built itself on being a scoop machine), and as a tactic it can reap rewards. Breaking this info out into the wild has indeed made Shane and gameface/SIFTD rise up in the cultural consciousness, and they did in fact tell a different story than other outlets.
At the end of it all though, I just don't think the raw audio of a gameplay presentation was worth the conversation it's generating, both in terms of information and in blowback.

RE: EZA Wiki
Didn't the mods shut down the GT Wiki eventually because users ended up getting offended at what was written on their profiles?
Surprisingly whoever wrote the GT Wiki was kind to me and i ended up having a much better profile than a lot of the other users had on there back then.
You imagine us with too much power, dear Yoshi. Besides it's generally Wikia's policy not to encourage speech that attacks other people
I really don't see any reason to have user pages, unless they're actually relevant to EZA as a whole (see here), and even then we would only add factual info that's already publicly available
The downfall of the previous user wiki was a combination of obsession. madness, bad faith, and using the wiki to simply stir up drama that was occurring on the forums
RE: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4)
Fun fact: The old PS2/PS3 Genji games were set about 100 years before ghosts of Tsushima takes place. If you'll recall, it too was inspired by history and featured giant enemy crabs whose weakpoints could be struck for massive damage.
I low-key hope there's some kind of reference to enemy crabs in Ghosts
RE: Yo where my GT community at?!
Welcome to the party. It's always good to see people return to the fold.
If you want some history:
The Allies themselves are mostly made up of later GT alums who were added to GT towards the end of it's golden age as part of a restructuring and shift towards shows and personality based content away from the hyper produced editorial content + exclusive hosted content of GT's golden years. After Shane Satterfield left and most of the staff was laid off at GT, the Allies are basically the majority of who was left at GT after corporate downsizing.
If you were a fan of Shane and invisible walls he went off to start his own site Siftd, which is a paid subscription aggregator site https://siftd.net/
If you've only just hopped on during the E3 hype train, welcome aboard. There are definitely a few veterans from the old Gametrailers days still wandering about. Most of them however moved on post-2012 when the infamous redesign hit to other boards like reddit, neogaf ( the latter of which partially imploded about a year ago) or other more close knit sites as part of the fallout from the removal of factions during the redesign. The EZA boards probably isn't the biggest locus of fans for the community but there's a dedicated group of folks here nonetheless.
