The usernames I use on other forums are even dumber. I want to be one with my inner Japanese girl.

RE: How long have you been an ally?
I got into Gametrailers from their Top Tens back in I want to say 2006. I strayed off a few years later when their video player kept being complacent with my browser. I still kept up with some reviews from time to time but the shift to Youtube was already swinging.
Actually don't even know much about EZA outside of some word of mouth. I just like fancy looking forums.

RE: Favorite Pokemon Generation
Gen 4 definitely, most specifically Platinum.
With the amount of legendaries in it, I'm surprised how many of them are intermingled within the main game. The Creation Trio and Lake Guardians play some role within Team Galactic's ploy to recreate the universe or some nonsense. It has what I consider the second best story in the main series (Plasma), as it shows how deep rooted Galactic really is within Sinnoh with their main locations being two major cities, using the guise of capturing these legendary Pokemon as sources of alternative power. Cyrus' grand plan is actually explained with his nihilistic viewpoint in the world (not to mention his sentimental side in never targeting his home town) which is a lot better than other villain teams.
The introduction to some of my favourite Pokemon and the Special/Physical split, giving some old Pokemon better viability in the metagame made for some fun times during high school. The AI having a massive improvement over the previous with some form of intelligent design which gets improved even more in the next generation.
Finally, it has the best champion in Cynthia and a post game that is extremely rich in content.

@2200 Might I interest you in a Happy Box?

RE: Are you buying into VR this year?
Having worked with the limitations of the DK2 and how interesting the technology is as an immersion tool, I would say I'm buying into the VR hype. However, not getting a job after recently graduating from a degree that has focused on playing with such pieces of technology to secure funds have been a major hindering feature.
I'm not a fan how much wire management the DK2 used, granted it might change for commercial. Even then the Vive shows more interesting features and based on VGC and various game concepts I've seen.

RE: Next evolution in game design?
Graphics will never be truly "done" until we reach the uncanny valley. @Art mentioned it already but a higher focus on interactivity within the environment would be the more logical focal point for the coming generations.
I'm speaking in a more AI term, for example NPCs would have more reactionary event handling to create a more visceral experience instead of the usual generic lines. This is a bit of a pipedream considering the amount of talent needed to create such an effect but with how much of a focus there is with open world games such behaviours feel archaic going all the way back to the 1980s. The idea that you could converse with some random villager akin to a MUD would be a really interesting test of immersion.

RE: Love or hate?: POP! Vinyl fiigures
They're mass produced imitation Nendoroids without the uniqueness and ability to pose them.
