The E3 Huber Syndrome was so effing good I hope it becomes a tradition.
SO GOOD.

I tend to buy most systems the moment there was a game on it I NEEDED to play, and then dig into back catalogue from there.
PS1 - Final Fantasy VIII (Yup, started with that one then went back)
N64 - Pokemon Stadium
PS2 - Final Fantasy X
Xbox - Halo
Gamecube - (wasn't a particular game)
PS3 - Metal Gear Solid 4
Xbox 360 - Tales of Vesperia
Wii - Wii Sports
PS4 - Infamous Second Son (was the launch window title I wanted)
@marcel Solid plan man - you're in for a BLAST.
Persona 4 Golden is like the Easy Allies of JRPGs (all about fun, friendship and good vibes with the backdrop of a murder - looking at you Defy Media haha).
I don't want to hype it too much for you dude, just go in fresh and note that the first 5ish hours are all about context and setting the tone (it really gets into gear after that).
@RoyalCactopi said in Where should I start with the Persona series?:
If you really only want to play 5 (because damn, it looks amazing), you can absolutely start there. 3 and 4 are neat though if you have the time!
Oh yeah, right, totally forgot to mention that Persona is pretty much like Final Fantasy. You don't need to play the previous games in the main line series to get the more recent entries.
Good point.
"Modern" Persona - ie, after they added social links - started with 3.
If you think you have it in you to finish 3 and 4 before February 14th (I wouldn't try tbh, since you could burn out), then I would start with 3 since the gameplay improvements made with 4 could make it hard to go back.
If you don't have time for multiple 90+hour RPGs, just play Persona 4 (Golden if possible).
(Note, later, when you DO have the time, 3 is definitely worth going back to , 4 Golden is my personal favourite, and earlier Persona games are still good but very very different)
You mentioned it, but yeah, FFXV kinda has a dark cloud over it for now, but hopefully that passes come release.
I didn't think I'd be interested in the new God of War, but that impressed me like all hell.
Biggest surprise though? Infinite Warfare. I was fully expecting to be totally disinterested in that game, but that demo looked DOPE.
looks at other replies Haha, wow, yeah Mass Effect was the first thing to come to mind too.
I wonder how similar all of us Easy Allies fans are? Our tastes seem to converge around so many things.
As a runner up, I think I wouldn't mind Inaba (Persona 4).
Note: I wouldn't pick anything in a fantasy universe since the quality of life is certainly not guaranteed (eg dental care man!)
@Stormcrownn Haha, they were so shattered after the week. MAN the Allies went the extra mile of us - so happy they're in the business.
But yeah, MS made some serious waves with their platform announcements. They're changing what consoles can be in (probably) a good way - the move towards Xbox being essentially an affordable mid-tier gaming PC is a big deal.
We need Xbox to stay competitive and keep making interesting moves like this so the business stays healthy. I love what Sony's doing right now, but if MS and Nintendo ever do crash and they were left as the last console maker standing, I'd be scared for our future.
EA: 1 Star
Bethesda: 4 Stars
Microsoft: 4 Stars
Ubisoft: 3 Stars
Sony: 5 Stars
(rated based on presentation and how many games they showed off that I cared about)
The Allies said it all.
