Wow, that's a sizeable point difference between the final two. Thought it'd be closer, honestly.
RDR had been my GOTY 2010 for a long time, but when we got to follow through Arthur Morgan's story in 2018 it was so much better that I actually had to readjust the original's position. (Basically raising God of War III ahead of it.) A superb game, nevertheless! Unforgettable in so many ways.
ME2 is a fantastic scifi RPG, loved it so much back then. The choices and the stakes hit hard and most of the companions were impactfully presented. Now that years have passed the game has lost some of its charm when I search my feelings (yes), but a Top 4 place is still earned.
My own list was like this:
#1: God of War III
#2: Red Dead Redemption
#3: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
#4: Mass Effect 2
HM: Heavy Rain
HM: Just Cause 2
HM: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Shame that Darksiders didn't make it. An excellent metroidvania with a super cool art style. Two is better, but the first one has nothing to be ashamed of.
Just Cause 2 was my first touch of Rico's world and that game's beautifully crazy! :) The game's pretty enough but also still has that arcade-y feeling to it. And the way you move in this game... that alone earns this HM. So satisfying.
Shattered Dimensions is easily one of the better Spidey games. Four different webheads and worlds with different versions of the familiar villains. We're so far from the 2018's Spider-Man in this one, but they both definitely have their places in the gaming world.
Thanks again Axel for this one! Now let's start the hype train for the Big One next!
