RE: Last game you finished
Batman Arkham games (Asylum, City, Origins, Knight)
I have been wanting to play these games for a long time but I wanted to do so from the start of the series. I finally got all the games on PC and started this month. My only experience with the series before this month was playing the Xbox 360 demo for Batman: Arkham Asylum around the time it first launched. Fortunately for myself, I went into these games mostly spoiler free.
I played mostly main story content with only some extra content. I won't get into particulars because there are plenty of reviews that can explain all the details much better than I ever could. Or you can check out the video below. I'll just say that I really enjoyed the series overall. It's probably the most fun I had in gaming this year. Though the thing that fascinated me the most was seeing how the series evolved from game to game. At first I regretted not playing these games sooner but having the opportunity to play the series back to back was something special. Now I'm eagerly awaiting Rocksteady's next project like most people.
- Batman: Arkham City 10/10
- Batman: Arkham Knight 9/10
- Batman: Arkham Asylum 9/10
- Batman: Arkham Origins 7/10
Shout out to Huber and Jones sharing their favorite moments in the series:
RE: The EZA Community Top 25 Best of 2019!
@sentinel-beach I finished 49 new games in 2019. It's a mix of short and big games like you said. Pilgrims is 1 hour long, while Borderlands 3 is much more. I used to play games like World of Warcraft that required you to commit to them, now I mostly only play games I can finish. @DIPSET said he sunk roughly 90 hours into Tetris 99, that's something I wouldn't do.
Normally I would finish between 20 and 30 new games a year. Last year, I used GameFly, Game Pass, Steam Family Sharing and Origin Premier which allowed me to try more games.
RE: That's News!
@capnbobamous That really sucks to hear about Game Informer. I visit the Game Informer website all the time and have listened to their GI Podcast every week since 2011. I always appreciated their Easy Allies like positivity. I hope they can figure something out but that is a lot of their staff gone already.
RE: The EZA Community Top 25 Best of 2012!
I'm surprised it ranked this low to be honest because I can't shake the notion is was in serious GOTY contention in 2012. Or that could be faulty memory.
You were right. Far Cry 3 was definitely in many websites GOTY considerations. It won GOTY for EGM and It was also a contender for Giant Bomb during their 2012 GOTY podcast deliberations. I'm going to post the podcast below just in case anyone is interested.
I always enjoy listening to these type of GOTY discussions and I'm glad that Easy Allies also records theirs now. The full GOTY deliberations start at around 59:20. It's almost an hour and a half long.
I never played Far Cry 3 myself. Far Cry 4 was fun though.
RE: Kill Your Babies! IGN's Top 100 (Special One-Off Return!!!)
@oscillator Don Casanova would be proud of us.
RE: Why do you like Easy Allies?
What sets Easy Allies apart from other media outlets is their positive attitude and lack of cynicism. The internet and video game culture have enough negativity already. It's nice watching a podcast or stream where the Allies can share that enthusiasm.
RE: Vote for the forum's GOTY 2019!
I finished 49 2019 games last year. I usually only finish around 30 new games a year. There are some games I skipped or didn't finish but I feel good about my top 8.
I'd like to suggest people check out A Plague Tale: Innocence. This is my biggest surprise of 2019. You can watch Huber's review.
Also, shout out to Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition. It was one of my favorite Xbox 360 games and I'm glad It holds up.
RE: The EZA Community Top 25 Best of 2019!
All my votes made the list. I think that's a first for me. Resident Evil 2 is definitely a worthy winner. A few games just happened to resonate with me more than RE2 did.
These are the 49 2019 games I completed. Here are the results of my video game research.
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- The Outer Worlds
- A Plague Tale: Innocence
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Kingdom Hearts III
- Resident Evil 2
- Metro Exodus
- Gears 5
- Pokémon Sword
- Luigi's Mansion 3
- Total War: Three Kingdoms
- Borderlands 3
- Telling Lies
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
- Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
- Super Mario Maker 2
- Trover Saves the Universe
- Devil May Cry 5
- Need for Speed Heat
- Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
- Yoshi's Crafted World
- Arise: A Simple Story
- Lonely Mountains: Downhill
- Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
- The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
- Sticks And Bones
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
- Sayonara Wild Hearts
- SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
- Void Bastards
- Katana Zero
- Ape Out
- Hotline Milwaukee
- Crackdown 3
- What the Golf?
- She Sees Red
- The Long Return
- Rage 2
I don't play many multiplayer only games like Apex Legends and Tetris Effect. And I didn't play enough of any last year to put on my list.
Thanks again to @Axel for putting these together. I'll be there again for the next GOTY vote.
RE: What are your top 3 video gaming franchise?
1. The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Oblivion is my favorite. I played Morrowind by way of the exceptional Morroblivion conversion mod about 4 years ago.
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild. All equally great games, I couldn't pick one over the others. Most games in the series are fun too but these three are on another level.
3. Pokemon: Pokemon mainline series and Pokemon Snap.
Grand Theft Auto
RE: E3 2019 Hopes and Dreams
@el-shmiablo What I mean to say is something with a big budget behind it. Even though that's not really Devolver Digital's thing. Your right though. They publish some good stuff.
@Brannox I really hope Gears Tactics is still a thing. Microsoft hasn't shown anything since last E3 and everyone knows there history of canceling games.
