    • Retro JRPGs question

Up until this year the oldest JRPG I have ever played was Final Fantasy X. I was never into retro gaming so I never bothered playing the classics. This year something changed and I decided to try older jrpgs starting with the ones most people consider the best and all I have to say is ive been missing out!! Ive played and beat chrono trigger, final fantasy 6, 7 and 9 and am currently playing xenogears. I currently have skies of arcadia and persona 3 waiting in the wings as possible next games but my question is:

What game do you recommend I play (JRPG) that you would consider a must play?

    • RE: Advice for the horror game genre

@Inustar Thanks for the advice. I've played and beaten Outlast 1 and loved it though! Maybe this is just some strange "scared" phase I'm going through.

@Sentinel-Beach Single play is usually where I'm most comfortable as well when it comes to Tekken. I only play unranked matches when I do go online because I can't stand to have a record in ranked that has a lot of losses if I end up losing a lot since it can't be changed, which is the point of having a ranked match I guess. I think I only played about 13 or 14 matches and had 2 or 3 losses and I think I got 2 of those losses in a row when I decided it's too intense for me so that's why I like single play or unranked matches the best. I recently had a fond memory at a tournament at a gaming convention with Tekken where I took on two guys who were clearly great players and saw that each of them used their weak characters against most of the competition. I knew this because when they played against each other they always picked particular characters. I forced them to have to play with their best characters after I beat them and they of course destroyed me but I'm glad I made them use their best lol. Any who I'm not as good as I'm making myself out to sound so don't feel threatened but I definitely would like some tough competition to help me better my game seeing as that I'm only really good with 1 player.

    • Advice for the horror game genre

My favorite genre when I was younger was horror. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, etc. P.T. was one of the most fun I've ever had and I played all my horror games alone in the dark. Recently, and I mean just this year recent, I've noticed that I now find it too intense as I get older. I struggled to finish RE7 and now having a hard time wanting to play Outlast 2. I'm not sure if its fear I'm feeling or just find games too intense now which is strange since I once craved it more than any other genre. I played a lot of RE7 in VR so I'm wondering if this had an effect on me that I didn't anticipate.

Has anyone else had this effect with horror games? Have they gotten easier to play as you've gotten older? harder? I'm trying to understand why I'm feeling this way with one of my favorite genres.

@RĂ³bertOrri I love TTT2! Do not get too comfortable with how it plays though as T7 does away with juggling for the most part which was a big part of TTT2. I would practice the free Tekken Revolution more since its single player and the tagging/juggling aspect is removed for practice or do single play only for TTT2.

@Sentinel-Beach That's awesome! In the GT forum days they set up a tournament for Tekken 6 I think it was? I came in second place. That's not to say I'm very good or anything but better than average for sure.

    • RE: How many games have you completed this year so far?

@Haru17 Im the worst kind of gamer as I avoid any and all sidequests and go straight for story. I regret only not doing sidequests in breath of the wild as i dont really have motivation to go back since i buy a ton of games. I completed final fantasy 15 in 18 hours if that gives you an idea of how fast i bolt through a game.
