@inustar I'm with you, I've really been looking forward to this one so this delay hurts a bit. However the general consensus seems to be that the game needs some polish/work. Hopefully they can rework some stuff and show off the game some more at a later time and see if they can't win some gamers back. I'm be there day one, but for their sake I hope they can rally the troops so we're not the only ones.

RE: The Game Awards 2019
I personally enjoyed this years game awards. I thought the show flowed pretty well and I was really impressed with Sydnee Goodman. The show started off extremely strong with an amazing pre show then probably reaching it's peak with the new Xbox Series X announcement. After that there were some interesting games shown but so many were only CGI with no gameplay it was hard to get really invested in most of them.
I was surprised that Disco took home so many awards, mostly just because it didn't seem like a ton of people were playing it since it is only on PC right now (very much looking forward to its console release in 2020). I enjoyed the musical performances as well, mostly chvrches, Green Day was good but I would prefer having the music be more related to video games.
I thought the Muppet segment was really fun too. I would want more stuff like that in the future, though Im sure it was expensive and more difficult then just writing some jokes.
I think the low point was the presenters for GOTY. I'm not into F&F so having Michelle and Vin does nothing for me, and to have their game be the last shown kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Overall I was pleased, I still think there's some room for improvement but a pretty solid awards show. Mostly I'm just weirdly proud of Geoff. I always felt kinda bad that Viacom pulled the plug on the VGA but was really happy to see Geoff was gonna keep the show rolling. I know everyone doesn't dig the VGA but I'm really glad they exist, warts and all.
RE: State of Play
Don't know about everyone else but I think this was probably their best State of Play yet. Flowed nicely, had some decent announcements and a fun twist with the RE3 reveal even though everyone knew it was coming. Got a Ghost teaser with more to come at the game awards. Overall I think the State of Play videos are getting better, get the feeling they have been listening to the feedback.
RE: Shenmue 3 (PS4/PC)
As a huge Shenmue fan I've really been enjoying Shenmue 3. While the combat system is a little lacking (I always like grabbing/throwing people in brawlers) I actually really enjoy how the gameplay mechanics play into the roleplay. I always try to RP in single player narrative games and the fact that stamina/health deplete when running forces the player to take it slow and walk around. Forces you to engage with the games economy that you didn't really have to in the previous games. I'm still early in but man im still in love with this series. I love these NPC and their fantastically awful VO.
RE: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
@el-shmiablo I'm not a dev or anything but my understanding is the game is loading the next level in the background while cut scenes play out. If you could skip them I imagine it would just bump you to a loading screen which might be preferable to you.
RE: Half-Life: Alyx
I have a hard time believing the game will look as good as this trailer. I only have a PS VR and haven't experienced the newer VR headsets but I have a hard time believing this game in reality will look and play at that level. The game itself looks really great though, I also love the humor it has going on. Very much looking forward to watching a play through when it comes out.
RE: Hall of Greats Compendium
Another great addition to Hall of Greats, finally got in FF7 and CS is well deserved. Personally was really pulling for AvP, as a huge beat'em up fan there's really no denying it's greatness and place in the hall of greats. Don also just killed it with his presentation, not only was the video great, the whole lead up bout how hes always running short on time but not this time, What, wait, we're starting already, roll the video, Roll the VIDEO! Great stuff
RE: The Game Awards 2019
Don't know bout everyone else but the actual rewards are the thing I'm actually lease interested in. I watch the show mainly for the reveals, and then for the general celebration of video games. I can guarantee Chvches will play their Death Stranding song tho I think I'd prefer that like Sweden kinda metal song they played in on of their trailers.
RE: The Game Awards 2019
@hanabi My understanding is they have a cut off date, anything released after that date is in the running for the next year. I think the general idea is that if they were to wait till 2020 there would be less interest in GOTY 2019 maybe because a bunch of other outlets would have already posted their personal GOTY. I kinda agree with you tho, I'd be okay with them waiting till Jan 2020 to have the Game Awards.
Think it also has to do with companies running sales during Game Awards and doing it before the holidays might mean better business, not sure, we'd have to ask Geoff Keighley.
