Dropping in to say that Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is the smartest dumbest most ingenious love comedy ever made. I loved the manga. The anime doesn't disappoint, which is surprising because when it comes to adaptations, there's usually something lost from translating through mediums. Please watch it. You'll have a good time.

RE: Anime! Who's watching what?
"Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai" or "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai"
I get the feeling that a lot of people will pass on this, so I'll give my two cents. To me, this is probably the most likable show of the season. It's very well written where characters show more depth as it continues on, and you can understand where most people are coming from with their actions. If I were to make an X plus Y comparison to other shows, it's sort of like Oregairu with splashes of Bakemonogatari. Don't skip.

RE: Anime! Who's watching what?
@mbun With my brief knowledge over the manga, I can't say that Goblin Slayer is overpowered at all. Or if he is "OP", it's the same way Batman is "OP" due to him knowing more about his enemy. He is afterall the Goblin Slayer, so it makes sense that he's good at killing goblins. It's interesting you mentioned SAO since the author of Goblin Slayer wrote the story as his own D&D campaign that sort of counters the isekai genre. (By the way, you can see the D&D influence in a few places. The priestess fills out a 5e character sheet, you hear dice rolls, EXP is given to those who fulfill quests, even the lyrics to the opening mentions d20s) So as for plot progression, I imagine the story be 1 part character development with characters trying to open up to each other and 1 part campaign with goblin battles thrown in. I'm speculating, but if the author is acting as a DM, it'd make sense to go that straightforward direction.
Probably a more apt comparison for Goblin Slayer is Re:Zero, which animation studio White Fox also did. It's a deceitful fantasy world where little mistakes become costly. I have a bias here since, I really like White Fox and the way they adapt media. I thought Re:Zero was pretty good, and Goblin Slayer is sort of in the same lane as Re:Zero. So that's why I'm looking forward to Goblin Slayer.

RE: Anime! Who's watching what?
Goblin Slayer's setting is brutal and dark. It reminds me of Berserk or Dark Souls where the punches aren't pulled at all. Easily one of my more anticipated shows.

Don't let the silly cute Sanrio characters fool you.
This anime is about the hell of everyday working life.

RE: Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee! (Switch)
It comes down to content and price. If this is just Pokemon GO! but with the Red/Blue map to walk around, it's hard to justify spending more than $20-30. There isn't much information about how the game really 'progresses' as an "action RPG", so people should reserve their judgement. Though with the way this is being advertised, it really does seem like an extension of the mobile game, which I think hurts it as a supposedly full fledged entity. Gamefreak really shouldn't have leaned into GO! if they wanted to sell this as it's own thing with its own identity.

Got around to watching Relife.
It's about a guy who gets offered a chance to relive his highschool years by taking a pill to make himself look young again. It's surprisingly heartwarming with good moments of emotional impact. I won't say it's groundbreaking, but it's nice to have an adult's perspective on teenage drama.
Also, the soundtrack is a 10/10. Every Ending is a different song from the 90s, which I suppose represents the music the main character listened to during his time actually in high school. Like this one here.

RE: Anime! Who's watching what?
@Mbun Also, there's this.
Additional thoughts: As hit-and-miss the humor is in Imouto sae Ireba Ii, it's certainly special and a huge part of the show's identity. If the show wasn't half as crass as it was, I get the feeling that the punches it pulls wouldn't be so effective. In those regards, it's sort of like Gintama or Yakuza with the way the mood swings from 0 to 'What is even going on?'. I should probably apologize for the comparison, but yeah.
Also, I have to give props for the board games played and referenced (the shelf in apartment: Dominion, Dixit, ect.) Seeing those made me extremely happy for some reason. The ending cards too where they describe the type and taste of alcohol/beer each character likes. There's a layer of detail here that's totally unnecessary but I appreciate. I really like how much thought went into the little details.

RE: Anime! Who's watching what?
I want to talk about Imouto sae Ireba Ii (All You Need is a Sister) for a moment. It's trashy, raunchy, morally reprehensible, has a a lot incredibly niche jokes...
And it has no business being as good as it is.
Briefly, All You Need is a Sister is about a group of light novel authors and the people around them. Despite the title, the "sister" aspect isn't really part of the plot but more of a trait of the main character.
I cannot defend the amount of trash that's in this show (the first 5 minute in particular are pretty insane) but, for me, this show went from being a guilty pleasure to being... a normal pleasure. I like this show. I like it a lot. I write this knowing that, yes, girls are quick to strip to nothing and that, yes, there's a scene with tentacles. I am aware.
As the show slowly unravels, the character's become relateable. The struggles everyone goes through is surprising deep. We learn about what makes everyone tick and it's hard to not get attached. And when bad things happen, it hurts because the scenarios are all too familiar in real life.
It also helps that there's a really good episode where everyone sits down and plays D&D with their own made-up characters. So bonus points given there.
I doubt this anime will be on anyone's top 10 list, and I completely understand why people would check out. But it's the surprise of the season for me.

RE: Anime! Who's watching what?
MMO junkie. It's a slice of life show that's easy to wind down to. After watching two episodes, I really like it. The main character is a woman in her 30s who plays MMOs and the story follows her misadventures. There also seem to be somewhat darker themes going on in the background as evidenced in the opening.
My recommendation: Please watch it. I get the feeling this is going to be buried by other shows, but it's definitely something special.

RE: Anime Openings
SHAFT when fully unhinged made the best openings. This is my favorite from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Crazy to think that all the hints were there for the ending 7 years later.

RE: Switch Presentation Event Betting Special!
Created an account just to get my two cents in on the rhyming 'switch' debacle.
Rhyming Switch with switch is incredibly shady. Using a dictionary definition is fine and all, but of those involved with this shady bet, I highly doubt that Don or ANYONE on the panel considered the word 'switch' to be a valid rhyme to the word 'SWITCH'. Don stated examples of what he wanted to hear and everyone made their bets accordingly.
Thus...
I suggest Judge Damiani to reconsider and follow the precedent set by Judge Ellis in the Kyle Bosman trial. If all parties had mutually the same interpretation of what it means to 'rhyme', then the bet and result should reflect this whether or not the dictionary definition states otherwise. This is contract law.
Of course, I doubt Judge Damiani will read this. And I doubt Cold Blooded will relinquish his title easily. However, it should be made clear, these sort of shenanigans would not have passed in the old days.
